Possible 3-0 heading into the Texas Game

How amazing would that be? I will be going nuts up there. I know this is far from being in the bank, especially heading to UConn for that game, but it seems very probable if the QB that gets the nod is effectively running the offense. I have no doubt in the RB's, corners & linebackers. I even think our OLine will be pretty good as well. Looking over Iowa & UConn's team and who returns, I really see this as a possible outcome. Am I drinking too much koolaid?

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

I agree with you on the UConn game, but the Iowa game?????

I like your confidence, but scoring one touchdown in like four years on them sure has shaken my confidence in beating the Hawks anytime soon.

Hate saying it, but got to give credit where credit is due.

I think 2-1 is a lot more likely in the non-conference. If we would beat Iowa, we haven't been very good after big games the past couple of seasons. I would be thrilled with 3-0 though, what Cyclone fan wouldn't be?

The only thing I like about playing Iowa is Stanzi is gone. Hate to admit it, but he's owned us the last couple years. If we can get an offense that can stay on the field....we have a decent shot. Of course playing at JTS is great as well.

Iowa will be replacing a lot of skills players next year. No more DJK. Didn't Reisner, the TE, graduate? I'm sure they have another in waiting though. No more Adam Robinson, but it looks like Coker will fill his spot. And didn't Tyler Sash leave?

In fairness, the number of quarterbacks who have owned us over the past few years is rather high.

2-1 would be awesome. Not seeing 3-0.

I would just like to see us beat Oklahoma and/or Iowa.

CPR has been killing losing streaks the past two years at Nebraska and at Texas. I just hope we can end one of the other streaks soon.

1-2 is most likely. Will be thrilled with 2-1 and ecstatic with 3-0.

I've been saying all along and will continue to say that we WILL beat Iowa. If we do beat Iowa I could def see a meltdown in Storrs the following week. Should be a fun year of Cyclone Sports!

Re: Possible 3-0 heading into the Texas Game

    Yeaahhhh...

I'd be happy with 2-1. I think we beat either Iowa or UConn, but I'm not sure which. If we beat Iowa, I'll almost guarantee a let down in Connecticut.

What scares me about Iowa isn't really anyone they return, it's more about how god awful Rhoads's teams have been against the Hawks. In '09 they showed some spark early, but Arnaud played the worst game of his career. Last year we didn't show a damn thing on either side of the ball at any point in time. Our defense got bent over by Iowa's line on that first possession, and our offense (both play calling and execution) just goes to ****.

If Paul Rhoads has anything to prove, it's that he can go toe to toe with Ferentz.

It amazes me how many fans have already written off UConn as a definitive loss...

Sort of agree. I think at home against Iowa is a taller task. I just can't get past our current QB situation. Unless Tiller improves greatly or Jantz turns out to be a stud, I can't see how we win more than 3 or 4 games total, let alone our first three or any road games.

History tells me, an early road test against a decent team has disaster written all over it.
