Only theyd never play together. Lucious would have to sit out next year and Allen will be a senior.

    Re: Korie Lucious

It won't hurt next years team one bit that he would be there to practice against. He would still be apart of the team and that goes a long ways I think. However, baggage would have to be dropped at the door. I would hope the chemistry between him and Allen wouldn't hurt the team in any way. Not saying there would be, but I just don't know what happened at MSU. They were both kicked off the team, so something must be up.

    Re: Korie Lucious

I thought the problem was possibly with a third person, not between these two.

Korie would finish the second semester at MSU?

He can sign during what period?

Right now Michigan State team is trying to survive.

    Re: Korie Lucious

Seemingly, there is only one school in the whole country showing any interest in Lucious. I think Coach Hoiberg can slow-play him a little bit.

If you're going to take a guy and know you only get him for one year, he better be damn good. Gilstrap, I think, fit this. If you're going to take a guy that you get for one year but you have to use a scholarship for two years, he better be elite. I'm not sure Lucious, his off-the-court problems, and even moreso his 40% eFG%, fits this.

    Re: Korie Lucious

It's hard to judge Lucious primarily on a stat like eFG%. He's a guy that changes pace and would start at the PG for his senior year, regardless of his poor shooting percentages. He's a dynamic athlete with the ball and can run a team. If Iowa State was Duke or North Carolina or KU and could get comparable talent right now, then it makes sense to pass on him, but they haven't made a tourney since 2005. Lucious could be the difference maker in making the tourney in 2012-2013...is that worth a "burned" scholly next year...in my opinion..yes.

1000% correct. It surprises me that some do not see it that way. Perhaps they pulled a Rip Van Winkle the last 5 years, but ISU hoops is on life support. Immediate talent infusion needed.

    Re: Korie Lucious

i want odunsi, sledge, and mcgee to get practice against a stud PG - a quick athlete that can score. that would be a nice luxury in practice. agree on it dramatically improving our 2013 tourney chances

    I agree with this.

We have plenty of shooters. What we don't have right now is pure ball handlers. We just need a guy who is an explosive athlete to lead this team, which is what Korie seems to be. I would take him in a second given the chance.

I totally agree. We need to see the tournament again soon. We're reaching (and in many minds we're probably already there) the point where people assume that it's not possible. That's not a good spot to be, it's too easy for it to become a long-term truth.

So, if he can get us to the tournament, it's worth a lot more than sitting home. If we don't need him for the Dance, then it doesn't matter so much.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

    Re: Korie Lucious

Is there an outside chance that if he finishes the semester he could graduate? Then he could come here for a graduate program like Anderson and play next year. I may be way off here, but just a question I had to those who may know.

I doubt it. Graduating in three years as an athlete probably isn't going to happen. If he was taking 18 credits a semester and taking summer classes he could but I highly, highly doubt he was taking any more than 14 credits a semester.

I would take those "Marquette not interested" ideas with a grain of salt.
