Williams: Monday musings for Feb. 14, 2011

Thoughts on Quenton Pomley, Korie Lucious, Jamie Vanderbeken's injury, women's hoops, realignment, the Grammy's and much more. Enjoy.

Interesting. When i heard Steve's reasons for leaving KXNO, i wondered if WHO was next. It was more than just getting up early in the morning. He and Miller were fabulous on their analysis of college football(except the hawgies). I hope van hardin does a far better job in replacing Steve than he did with the morning show. T & T are pathetic. You and Ric Silvestrini should be doing that show!!!!!

    Chris -
    1. Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs" is a tremendous album.
    2. Not a huge country fan, but Miranda Lambert's "The House That Built Me" is one great song.
    3. Texas A&M will be leaving for the SEC.

I honestly had never heard of them before last night. Neither had my wife.

You are just relentless on this, aren't you?

Growing up there used to be a guy running around Moline, IL with a sign reading "REPENT" in big bold letters on a fairly regular basis - you remind me of him.

Miranda is my favorite female country artist. Her latest album is an all-time classic IMO. I'll take your word on the Arcade Fire album. I'll take Alan Jackson's greatest hits instead.

Re: Williams: Monday musings for Feb. 14, 2011

Regarding the "musing" about the NC State coaching gig, I think you might be underestimating the expectations of the Wolfpack fans around here regarding a coaching search WHEN they fire Sidney Lowe. NC State fans, as far as I can tell, expect no less than a top-tier coach, and they have the alumni #'s and $ to support such a hire. They expect to get back to final fours and to get a 3rd national championship. I wouldn't be surprised if Debbie Yow hired away a household name coach from some other university, but I would be surprised if they settled on Jeff Capel. They will hire someone who is proven at the next level and can immediately take advantage of their 5th-ranked freshman class so they don't loose all of them in a crappy coaching transition.
