    Re: kyle boyd

He was waiting for a Baylor offer when he committed to ISU. I've found that the TX kids are harder to pull than the FL kids. They are more "momma's boys" and look for any excuse to stay in TX. ISU has beaten better FL teams (like USF) for FL kids while losing kids to TX schools like Baylor, Houston and SMU. Too bad, but ISU should be just fine without Boyd. They may have to go JUCO next year, though.

he practically begged BU for a scholarship before he committed here, it wasn't really a surprise when he switched.

I would not use the term "momma's boys," and I have spent a lot of time in Texas, having had family there since the 1980s. I think it is more accurate to say that Texans are perhaps excessively loyal to their state, which was once an independent country, remember; they also think, many of them at least, that Texas has all one could possibly need or want in a locale, so why leave?

According to his family member (I assume), it was god's will and decision... laughable excuse for not following through.

Guy was fishing for a Baylor offer from day one and most knew if he got one he would be gone. A lot of pride in that state

I once worked with a guy from Texas who had a corporate job in Delaware. When his wife was expecting their first child, he sent her back to her parents in Texas 30 days before the due date so that the kid could be born a Texan. It did seem fitting that he was one of those guys with 2 first names.
