Cool, thanks. MySA always seems to have very solid coverage across the Big 12.

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Iowa St preview from the San Antonio Newspaper

After: In his two years at Texas, Chizik never had a linebacker as good as Bowen. Look for the new coach to make full use of his new toy.
    I like that.

Rebuilding Iowa State will be no quick fix for new coach Gene Chizik, though with 12 junior-college transfers in his first class, he will certainly give it a shot.
At least SOMEONE had finally acknowledged Chizik's recruiting strategy in the offseason. Whenever you hear the national media, they discount the JUCOs and see the lack of HS recruits are just a sign of things to come (although Chizik had no real chance to recruit the HS ranks for this season). It's just nice to hear that someone gets that the recruiting strategy was purposeful, not necessarily hodge-podge.

Where do you think he pulled that 2 deep from? Do you think it's accurate?

Good question........I have read a lot of articles, and maybe I don't pay enough attention, but that is the first I have heard of Derec Schmidgall. Anyone else know much about him?

The Express News is an excellent newspaper. It is a 7 day/week as well. And the kicker is that it costs less for a subscription than the DM Register, CR Gazette, even the Waterloo Courier.

The 2 Deep is the one listed in the media guide. It's the "pre-fall" 2 deep, so there's probably been changes

Ummmmm..........have you been paying attention for the past 12 years??? Iowa continued to get nearly all of the good Iowa kids. However, we did manage to beat out UNI for a lot of recruits.

Wow, I'm surprised Iowa didn't go after Blythe, Meyer, Arnaud, Scales, Sandvig, Taylor, Ferguson, Hulbert, James Smith, Frere, and Barkema...most of the others I can understand seeing as a lot of them were walk-ons...seriously, can anyone say anything without you throwing Dan McCarney into the mix, whether it's our two-deeps, a comment on Chizik, Wayne Morgan, Grant Gibbs, or McDermott and Alex Thompson...

There's a shock, my stalker follows me to yet another post.

Blythe, and Arnaud were recruited by Iowa, as was Scales. But the rest of them, NOT SO MUCH!!!

And did you pay any attention to the recruiting over the past 12 years??? Apparently, like always you pick ONE or TWO circumstances, while COMPLETELY IGNORING THE WHOLE SITUATION. We gave scholarships to the kids that Iowa said, yeah you can come here, but you have to walk on, if you pan out there MIGHT be a scholly for you in a year or two. That is not a scholarship offer is it, Lil Dan??? But please continue to twist facts because much like your hero, the truth, and reality is NOT your friend.

To Dart's credit, this is a football thread.

Dan was an easy target for a variety of reasons, but once the season kicks off we will have better things to talk about.

So we beat out UNI for the other ones??? The only ones we beat out UNI for were walkons. Btw, pretty classy and mature with the stalker talk...funny YOU are calling anyone a stalker. Btw, Meyer also had an offer from Iowa and at least a couple of the others probably would've, but we got them to commit before Iowa offered...either way, none of those players on the two-deep that weren't walk-ons selected us over UNI.

UNI was definitely in the mix for Sandvig. I'm too lazy to look up the others.
