    Chuck Tanner dies

Sad day for Pirates fans with Chuck Tanner passing away today. His mother died before game 5 of the 1979 World Series with the Pirates down 3-1 to the Orioles. The Pirates rallied around Mr. Tanner and came back to win the series in 7 games. RIP.

He's one of my earlier memories of the Pirates. The first is Pops.

Wrong, they are a look that defined the era. They are iconic and there is even a Willie Stargell hat in the Hall of Fame.

Horrible. Worse than the Astros uniforms of the same era.

    Great manager!

    RIP Chuck.

You should have gave up the cigarettes.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
