    On ESPN Right Now...

... the World "Stackey Cup" Championships. Seriously - when I went into the shower it was Baseball Tonight, I come out of the shower and it's the "Stackey Cup" Championships. I mean, I get it's 12:30 on Friday, and (most) nobody's home to watch this junk, but seriously - ESPN's willing to show this stuff but not more Iowa State sports?

I mean, if it were the world Tippey Cup Championships, yeah. That'd be fun to watch. But watching 6 year olds stack cups is not my idea of great entertainment.

I saw that too, and not to be an ***, but I think it's "Stacking".

It's simply amazing what passes for sports these days. And it's not like this is on Espn 2, or even Espn 8 (the Ocho), but regular ol' ESPN. Wow.

I saw this too and was confused at first. I figured stacking was something else but its really just stacking. :(

I'd rather see reruns of "Madden Nation" or something else ,anything else.

    Re: On ESPN Right Now...

With 839 ESPN channels running 24/7, I always expect this kind of stuff. I'd rather watch little kids stack cups than watch some of the other ESPN programming just because its somethign you don't see often.

One of my biggest pet peeves is with Larry Cotlar is that he continuously bashes ESPN for their "non-sports" programming like poker because he thinks poker isn't a sport and ESPN is a sports network.

Well take a look in the mirror Lar...you talk and promote crappy music quite often. Being a SPORTSRADIO station, you seem to talk a lot about non-sports stuff as well. Heck, you even ASK for non-sports related beefs. So don't bash ESPN for their non-sports coverage when they have to cover 24 hours of sports in a day and you have to cover 3.

    Re: On ESPN Right Now...

My little dude thinks that is really cool. We looked at the home game in several stores, and they want something like 30 or 40 bucks for a box full of plastic cups. I'm thinking for that money, daddy will buy a whole bunch of beer in plastic cups, and give him those when I'm done.

But if you want your kid to be a world champ, you gotta get him the best equipment, right?

I'm struggling to decide whether this is better or worse than the rock, paper, scissors championship I saw a while back.

It's not all that entertaining to watch, but I'm impressed by these kids. The action is fast.

Is Erin Andrews a sideline reporter? It might be worth watching then.

I figure these kids must have gotten their skills from cleaning up the cups in the backyard after mommy and daddy's keggers.

She wasn't on the cup competition, but she appears to be the anchor for the LLWS (which I don't mind watching, especially when Quad City teams had been represented 3 out of the 4 years between 2002 and 2005 (Eldridge-North Scott in 2002, Davenport Northwest - my old little league - in 2004 and 2005).

I wonder if any of the kiddies are going to fondle her like the idiot Sqwakeye fan (or lucky fan, depending on how you view it) did...
