    Coaches and beer

I remember reading here once that Coach Fennelly and LE used to stop for a beer every now and then. I hope that all our coaches stop for a beer together every now and then. Hopefully we have a close-knit group of coaches, head coaches and assistants, for years to come. Iíll raise a 23oz. Sam Adams to that!

Has anybody in Ames seen the coaches out for a beer? If so, what were they drinking?

    Re: Coaches and beer

I saw pictures of a basketball coach out for a beer after a basketball game once. It was good to see he could kick back and enjoy a cold one after a tough loss.

    Edit: Found the pic...

I'm guessing Rhoads drinks Busch Light/High Life/Old Mil and that Hoiberg is a gin and tonic man.

I once saw McDermott out with his family @ Centro. He had a pricy looking bottle of cabernet at the table.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

I'm guessing Coach Fennelly is a Guiness Stout drinker.

    Re: Coaches and beer

I got a shot bought for me by Tim Floyd when I was in high school at Wallabys after an ISU-KU game. I was at a table and they came down and sat next to us. He ordered a round of shots for the whole bar called Kansas killers. It was some smooth blue concoction.

Funny, I saw him at Dublin Bay in December and I was drinking a Guinness, but he wasn't. I don't remember what he was drinking though, didn't know I would be tested on it later.
