Good write up, but will J.J. manage to crack the 1,000 yard mark if he shares time with Scales, even if it is early on?

I think so, with 12 game seasons it isn't as tough as it use to be. I really think we will see several big games out JJ. 150+ days

Re: Cyclone First Look - Running Back 2 Deeps

Robinson sounds like a great flanker. Does the new offense have a flanker?

Re: Cyclone First Look - Running Back 2 Deeps

offense doesn't have a position labeled flanker as I understand it. Robinson is I guy I interested in seeing how he develops over the next year. I will be at the GridIron Club scrimmage saturday night and I will let you know on my blog what I see.

BTW, I encourage all of you to go join the GridIron Club, there are multiple levels of membership that will fit most budgets and you get a lot of great benefits, but most importantly you help Gene build a great program at ISU

I really hope Scales can regain his form from high school. I watched a couple of his games, and felt like he was the real deal, and a great pickup when we got him.

Re: Cyclone First Look - Running Back 2 Deeps

CyclonePride you are right, Jason really was special to watch, and while I always thought the Barry Sanders comparisons were a little over the top, because Barry had great speed as well as just amazing vision and moves, there was something Sandersesque about watching Jason in high school that I have not ever seen in person from any other high school running back.

I find it intersting that we would like to have a 1000 yard rusher now, and Troy Davis could go for 2000 when the other team knew he was gonna get the ball all the time. I think I only saw him play in person once and on TV a couple of times. I bet we could go
.500 if we have a 2000 yard rusher this hear. (in my dreams)

Re: Cyclone First Look - Running Back 2 Deeps

If we have a 2000 yard rusher with the receivers and QB we have along with what will be I think an improved defense we are in the BCS, not playing .500 ball. No way we have a 2000 yard rusher however this year.
