    Bring on the Sooners...

They are big, fast, and if you aren't careful they will run you off the court. Don't let the Barbie Doll look of the coach fool you. Cole is one of the toughest coaches in the Big 12. They start with Robinson and if you shut her down here comes Ellenberg and Hand. If they aren't enough there is Big Ben's baby sister and McFarland to clean up on the boards and make life miserable for the visiting post players. Coming off the bench is 6'6" Nicole Griffin. She needs to put on some weight to bang with the big girls but she still has the moves to give them 10 to 15 quality minutes a game. This team is scary and could be a major contender for the final four. Here is another Big12 game that the Clones have to be near perfect to get the win. My heart tells me that we pull this one out in the late minutes but my head tells me that we might lose this one big time.

Here are the names and numbers... read em and weep...

    Re: Bring on the Sooners...

I'll stick with my statements I made earlier this week when I posted about the upcoming games. (http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...eek-might.html)
I think OU is overrated (slightly...yes a top-25, but not where they are at) and when faced with an in your face defense like ours their numbers will drop. At OU so a very tough game. We've won there in the past so that isn't a bugaboo we have to overcome. Just solid D and and good inside outside game and the ladies will be in it. I'm picking ISU to win by 7.

Griffin has played a total of 15 minutes in conference play (8 games). McFarland or Cloman get a majority of the post minutes. It is well known OU doesn't have a strong post presence and is relying heavily on their guard play and slashing to the hoop to score or dishing for a three. They were out rebounded by 16 at BU on Wed, and are being out rebounded in conference play.

I am concerned for this game, mainly for our defense. we have had some breakdowns on the slashing guard offense - Iowa. If OU hits 3s, it will be trouble. If they miss, and we can play zone, it will be a tough game. I think ISU will be in it, but OU is coming off a loss and will want to rebound. As we have said all year, if our posts show up, we have a good shot at this one.

Guy at my office refers to Sheri Cole as "his girlfriend."

Yes, I am aware that's really creepy.

    Re: Bring on the Sooners...

I'm inclined to agree with acoustimac. I'm not yet impressed with the Sooners as compared to us. Collegerpi has them at 23, us at 24. We're both 16-5. Realtime has their SOS at 38 and ours 36. Neither of us has a notable win over a currently ranked team. We're playing better now and have more weapons. We have a better gameday coach. A month ago Loz was not ready for DR. Loz has grown and will do fine. Realtime has them favored by 8 - I'm guessing because they're at home and because of our two embarassing losses. I'm a FANATIC, I expect to win.

The only bad loss we have is Colorado. Yes, we played like crap at Iowa, but that loss does not hurt us. They currently have a stronger RPI than we do. OU is in it's toughest stretch of the year, with the BU game on Wednesday, ISU, and then they go to A&M. The question for them, is are they overlooking us because they blew the game against A&M in Norman and want revenge when they go to College Station.

Our posts have to show up, and our perimeter defense has to be on. OU is very dangerous when they shoot the three ball well.

I am not as optomistic as Beneclone. If the posts don't bring their A games today it will be a long long day. I think we have a less than 50% chance of pulling this one out. I hope the sisters prove me wrong in a big way.

So, BF is starting Zimm, Hallie, Bolte, Loz, and Chas. I really hope we can stay with their gaurds and score in the paint. AND, the signal goes down...
