David Ubben gets it wrong again!

    Case in point
Iowa State recruiting analysis - Big 12 Blog - ESPN
Tired of the Big Brother comments from him? I know I am.

Just like his league rankings which had us behind TTech and Texas, he gets it wrong again with his recruiting analysis and grades. He didn't even mention Steele in his brief blurb or on the compliled recruitment rankings.

ESPN mailbag is tomorrow and David will be answering questions, and like he has since the season ended, I'm sure he will answer 5 times as many NU questions as he does ISU or 3 times as many CU questions as he does ISU.

I'm hoping the Get a Clue Ubben campaign can start here.

Looked like a fair write up to me.

    haha hello lucasjhowell

i thought this comment was funny from you:
Hi, I'm Dave Ubben. I don't pay attention to anything that happens in Ames, IA because I'm an idiot so I make #### up and pretend like I was paying attention. Then I try and give excuses for not paying attention and #### off Cyclone fans by using the Big Brother analogy in the state of Iowa and when my predictions are completely off again next year I'll write articles about all the "sleeper" stars I saw on the team.

Honestly, I don't really have anything against Ubben, I think he does a decent job.

Ubben is very generic. He never says something new. Just writes rehashed newspaper clippings.

Re: David Ubben gets it wrong again!

He hypes Justin Tuggle from Blinn College who signed with KSU like he's the next Cam Newton and says nothing about Steele. His analysis of Baylor's recruiting strength is they're ideally located geographically in the state of Texas (like people actually want to be in Waco?). The guys a joke. He doesn't do his research and then throws something together last minute all the time.

I'm so tired of his rewriting how knowledgable he is. He says preseason that he's not sure what to expect from Baylor and that turns into mid season, see I told you Baylor was going to surprise people and then when they fall flat, he says he always thought they were inconsistent. The guy spends more time justifying how right he thinks he is then just paying attention to the league and reporting on everyone.

Frankly, I'm just a little tired of it.

By the way, C minus is the lowest grade he gave any Big 12 team. I don't even see how his write up matches the grade.

We're talking about ESPN here, fellas. If your team isn't USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, OU, in the SEC or in Florida, ESPN doesn't give a rip about your team.

Re: David Ubben gets it wrong again!

I thought it was pretty promising that he didn't even mention a few guys that could be the "gems" of the class.

Steele Jantz, who has been acknowledged by some to possibly be the best dual threat Juco QB in the nation. And David Irving, a 17 year old player who I think might have more potential to be a dominant player at his position than any other recruit that we signed. And I think Brackens has the tools to be a dominant safety.

I would rate us as a B- or a C+. Pretty decent class for ISU.

I have more fun seeing fans get bent about what somebody writes when said fans say the guy is an idiot anyway.

Re: David Ubben gets it wrong again!

For once i think Ubben actually wrote it up accurately. I think this is about a C class when you put it on a curve comparitively to the other big 12 schools. Thats to be expected until you have continued success, then players are more favorable to going to someplace like Utah, Boise State or even Ames, Iowa.

But for me, the devil is in the details and that Mr. Ubben - you fail!!!! the link to Sam Richardson the qb is to Sam Richardson the DB!!!!

Where he says, "Sam Richardson is the nations #53 quarterback..." He puts a link in there where you can click on the name...takes you to the other sam richardson. WOW.

Re: David Ubben gets it wrong again!

I have to admit to curiosity as to why he feels the out of state recruits need to compliment the instate ones. Won't they get big heads? I'd rather see them prove it on the field.

As a result, you see five players from Texas, five from California, and four from Florida to compliment the five from Iowa.
I mean, what are they going to do, stand around in a circle, with the Iowa kids in the middle.....?

Part of this fanbase is like the parable of the blind men and the elephant.

    Who knew?
