Cardinal Rules and Golden Rules Shirts

Hey not sure if anyone posted this, but if you are at the State Fair you can save yourself a few dollars on both the cardinal rules and golden rules t-shirts. I think the shirts are either $14 or $15 depending on where you get them. At the fair you can get both for $20. You can also get the red game day shirt for $10.

If your making a special trip to the fair for them you probably won't save any money considering the price you have to pay to get into the fair. But... if you are going. You might as well pick them up. Its a good way to save a few dollars and also have the shirts for this season. Also, they have the "I Choose Chizik" pin and the "Beat Iowa" for a dollar.

Oh and also, be sure to bring cash since they won't take check or credit card.

    Thought I could help.....

Are they still giving them away for free for students at the game?

Re: Cardinal Rules and Golden Rules Shirts

I haven't heard anything yet about that... But I'm guessing they probably will so the student sections are distinct like last year. I have some awesome pics of the student section last year during the cardinal and golden rule games. I sit directly across from the sections and you couldn't see anyone not wearing the correct color. Very Cool...

My guess though, you guys will get them free like last year. The small benefit of being a student.

I was already at the fair so I bought the Hit It Hard game day shirt for $10. I think the Cardinal and Gold Rules shirts this year are not nearly as good as last year's though.

Re: Cardinal Rules and Golden Rules Shirts

I have to agree with you on that one. My fiance (who I turned into a Cyclone fan ) bought that shirt for herself and decided to spoil me with the two other shirts. Which is fine and dandy with me.

Also, knowing her, she will probably end up stealing my shirts and wearing them more then me. She already claimed two of my favorite shirts in the last few weeks.

Re: Cardinal Rules and Golden Rules Shirts

I want to know who comes up with the slogans for the "Rules" shirts. The slogans are brutal. I saw one of them is "BBQ Texas" or something equally lame.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

Re: Cardinal Rules and Golden Rules Shirts

The athletic department will NOT be giving away Cardinal or Golden rules shirts this year.
They will be giving away 1000 "Game Day" shirts, which is the Hit It Hard design.
The 1000 giveaway shirts are to the first 1000 student season ticket purchasers or whoever picks them up first, I'm not sure on that.

From Major League... Vaughn just found out he needs glasses
Harris: ...Well, seeing's the most important thing
    Hayes: I don't think it's THAT important...

Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

The Gameday shirts are going to the first 1000 purchasers not those who pick them up. They are supposed to be handed out to those who have gotten confirmation emails at the pep rally in August.

Where did you hear that the athletic department will NOT be giving away Cardinal and Golden Rules shirts?

Mary Pink in the athletic department.

As far as I know, they are doing things differently this year. They still want the whole stadium in the appropriate shirt for the appropriate game, but I don't think they wanted to buy the shirts for the students this year.

Bummer. Not only is that a free t-shirt but it also assures that the students will all be wearing the correct color. I will say that the rest of the stadium didnt seem to all be wearing the right color.

Knebraska really did have reason to make fun of our weak "gold-out" last year. One end of the stadium looked gold at least...

I'll be happy with my free "Hit it Hard" shirt, those Cardinal/Gold rules shirts this year are really dumb anyway

Re: Cardinal Rules and Golden Rules Shirts

*sigh* Somehow the fact that the shirts aren't free this year gives me this ominous feeling that half the student section is going to be wearing the wrong color for those games. Granted, I'd love to be proven wrong.

Also reminds me of last year, when during the Cardinal Rules game, American Eagle gave their "show your spirit" award to the ONE guy wearing GREEN in the ALL RED student section.

Speaking of <insert color here>-out games, though. I did find a really neat set of pictures a couple of weeks ago that I thought I'd share. It's from the Texas A&M - Oklahoma State game, September 22, 2001. A group of students came up with the idea of a red-white-and-blue out to support the NYC firefighters after the 9/11 attacks, and organized it on the fly. They sold the shirts for $5 each to both A&M and OK-State fans, and raised over $150,000 for FDNY charities.

No real relevant point to that last part. I just think it's cool.
