The paragraph below was about the only part of the article that was giving Tinsley any praise. The rest of the article make him out to look like a lazy old guy just trying to draw on his big salary???????
Not much of an NBA fan so don't know if this is credible or just another opinion.
"When scouting Jamaal Tinsley, you realize he brings a mixed bag of pros and cons when he steps on the basketball floor. Tinsley is an excellent ball handler, one of the best in the league. He is so good with the basketball he can break a full-court press by himself, making that defensive strategy virtually useless when he has the ball in his hands. Jamaal is a clever penetrator and is equally adept at setting up teammates or shooting a runner in the lane once he gets into the paint. He's strong in the open court running the fast break. Generally, JT is a good and willing passer."
He hasn't been the model citizen off court either which doesn't help. I'm starting to question his work ethic myself lately. Seems like he's always hurt and not playing like the JT that we knew back at ISU.
Hate to say it, but Jamaal has had a knock on him in regard to work ethic ever since he got in the league. Supposedly he worked really hard after his rookie year and he'd be a difference maker in year 2. Then after year 2 he worked really hard... etc etc.
To his credit he played 72 games last year, which was a nice accomplishment for him. He had a tough year off the court, but we all make mistakes. With the exception of last year, he's been fine in that regard and he was cleared of everything in the first incident last October so it was really only one incident that he got himself into later in the winter. We'll see if he learns from it or not. He did some nice things on the court, despite having tons of transition around him and a front office that is ruining a once proud franchise.
Every game I watched where JT wasn't playing the team looked bad. Everytime he was in the game the Pacers looked good. I feel like he makes the players around him much better, and you can't see that in stats. Still like watching him play in the NBA. Wouldn't mind seeing him leave the stagnant Pacers.
"If you can't hear me, it's because I'm in parentheses."
