    Tax Question

I have a general question about which school district to list when I lived in the Gilbert school district from Jan 10-Jul 10, and moved into the Ames school district from beginning of Aug-present. Is it even possible to split/proportion where you live for a year? I assume I just have to put down Gilbert for the whole year.
    Thanks!

You should enter the school district number for the district you were residing in on 12/31/2010.

Oh really? I never knew that, I just figured it was for the year, not the year end date. Thanks!

    Re: Tax Question

Most tax questions are that way.

For example. If you were single all of 2010, but you get married on 12/31/2010....guess what?

Yes...you're considered married on your 2010 return.
