    ISU-EIU game

    | NCAA Football at CBS SportsLine.com

This may be old news, but why does everyone (as in most media) seem to discount the Iowa game as a loss? I know it's from a national website which means they do little research and will always go with the more known and tradition rich team. I also understand that we should be the underdog, but that doesn't mean it should be counted as a loss right away. I think the Toledo game will be just as tough as the Iowa game. At least we'll have it at our house with coaches that will call plays to our strengths finally!

    Re: ISU-EIU game

You said it yourself, we just have to take it with a grain of salt...the national media has little knowledge of us, most think Iowa is a top of the Big Ten program (in that second tier behind the big boys of Mich, tOSU, and Wisc) and we're a complete unknown this year. We do have to take small steps towards reaching all of our goals and dreams of playing for conference championships and beyond...I still think we're going to surprise teams, just with our physical play, the mental attitude, I think it will be a fun season no matter what!

If we have learned anything from precedent, those times we're discounted the most against EIU are precisely the times we pound the crap out of them...

Good point. I'm almost to the point where I think the Toledo game will be harder than the Iowa game and I don't think the Iowa game will be easy.

Definitely take things with a grain of salt, the best thing is when we prove people dead wrong. And I think that we will.

    Re: ISU-EIU game

I think the Toledo game will be very tough...The only thing we do have going for us is that it isn't our first game and Toledo has to play Purdue, @ Central Michigan and @ Kansas before playing us. It is our first road game tough.

EDIT: I can't wait to ''listen'' to it on the radio. Maybe by 2025 we can have the ability to watch all games if we want.

    Re: ISU-EIU game

The national media is looking at this: We are predicted last place in our conference. They are predicted 4th. How could a better team like that lose to a young team like ISU.

Also who was the better team last year? Iowa, who lost more? ISU. On paper, it looks like Iowa should easily win this one. Lets hope they are all wet.
