    Football visitors this weekend?

Anyone know who's visiting this weekend?

We have a home MBB against Oklahoma, and it's the last weekend before signing day. Gotta get some commits this weekend.

Yikes. I guess I'm not expecting many surprises on Weds then. We must be done?

I think we are waiting on Green, Grady, and maybe one other kid. If they go elsewhere, we may throw a couple of schollies at last minute guys or more likely reward a walkon is my guess.

    Re: Football visitors this weekend?

Given that it's the very last weekend before Signing Day, I wouldn't be surprised if the staff were bringing in a prospect or two that they wanted to keep entirely under wraps--no last minute poaching allowed.

That's what Texas Tech did to us last with Hubert. They brought him in on a secret visit.

Well, I meant uncommitted or under-the-radar guys--but I wouldn't mind if they snuck in, say, this guyL: Jordan Phillips - Yahoo! Sports

If, as some feel, they are just waiting for a handful of players and none of them signs, I think I'd be just as happy if they held onto the schollies for late qualifiers, once May or June rolls around. For that matter, that's when we signed Lattimer and Tau'fo'ou, IIRC.

Im surprised they really didnt use basketball games for recruiting this year. I guess the schedule worked out so that early in Jan we were on the road on Saturday.

Really surprised only 2 walkons today.

    Re: Football visitors this weekend?

I would say there are about 3 or so commits that everybody knows about that we are waiting on, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are a couple that nobody knows about that we are waiting on. We don't have the room to go for anyone else right now.

I know the coaches have been doing in home visits to Grady in Florida a lot, so that might be how they are choosing to spend their time, really trying to get those 2 or 3 prospects.

    Re: Football visitors this weekend?

If we do get Grady, what position does everyone see him at? QB? That would be crazy. How many QB's do we need on the roster?

Or will he project at WR, DB?

I realize he's a great athlete, and you can never have too many great athletes, I'm just wondering where people think he would end up?

    Re: Football visitors this weekend?

We're about done. If we snag Green and Grady that'd be great, and if not - oh well. Kaleb Johnson is still available, I guess. We're in his final four, but Miami looks to be the favorite for him. So that's an option too I suppose.

    Re: Football visitors this weekend?

Grady will probably start out at QB. If he proves he's the best in this class he stays at QB. Otherwise he would project at Saftey. That's where South Florida is recruiting him at.

I would guess we let Daniels and Grady battle to see who is a better QB, and Richardson will most likely be a QB no matter what.

    Re: Football visitors this weekend?

Crazy thought...how about if we get them all committed, signed, and in school and at practice first? Let alone getting through their redshirt freshman year?

    Especially even the "committed" part.
