Taco Bell: "Thanks for Suing Us"

In a full-page ad appearing in prominent newspapers on Friday, Taco Bell proclaimed, "Thank you for suing us."

"Our reputation's been falsely tarnished," said Greg Creed, Taco Bell's president. He told CNNMoney that he's meeting with outside counsel to possibly take legal action on these "egregious" accusations against his beef.
"We clearly take this very seriously," he said, noting that a decision on legal action will be made in the next week. "We're reacting to this onslaught against our food and reputation."
The fast-food company said that its beef is "100% USDA inspected," and insisted that its meat mix is "88% beef and 12% Secret Recipe." But the lawsuit, filed in federal court within the Central District of California, claims that the mix is about one-third beef.

Beef is beef, stuff is stuff. The stuff added may be better for you than the beef.

"Less than 35% beef" and "88% beef" is a pretty wide window

Re: Taco Bell: "Thanks for Suing Us"

How many people use plain browned ground beef when they sit down for Taco Night dinner?

None...They sprinkle in a packet of South of the Border Ortega Sodium and Cumin....along with the requisite 1/2 cup of water.

This Taco Bell ish is a non-story.

The "stuff" they are talking about is filler material like flour and silica. It's common in most fast foods.

It's a processed product, enough said. Start asking around to different restaurants what percentage of cheese is actually in their products labelled "cheese". I would bet the average person couldn't name what makes up a large percentage of nacho cheese.

It would be odd to hear anything called delicicious.
