It will be Dave Otto, Keith Moreland, or the like.

Bring in Mark Grace. I like Plesac every now and then, don't know if I could take him all year long though.

David Kaplan from CSN Chicago was on Matt & Miller yesterday and he Plesac (hope not, I like him on MLB Network) & Otto as possible replacements.

    Re: Ron Santo Replacement

Originally they wanted Mark Grace or Rick Sutcliffe, but both have contract obligations Grace with Diamondbacks and Sutcliffe with ESPN. Kappy didn't give any more news on KXNO the other day, than this article from Jan 6th did

Grace, Sutcliffe unlikely to replace Santo on WGN - Chicago Breaking Sports

I actually thought Otto did a good job.

Nobody will come close to Santo. Still sad thinking he passed.

    Re: Ron Santo Replacement

I can honestly say, I'm not sure I'll be listening as much as I normally would. Even when the Cubs were bad, which was most of the time, there was no better way to spend my spring, summer and early fall afternoons in my office than listening to Pat and Ronnie.

At this point I tend to agree. I think Grace or Sutcliffe would've been great. Moreland, Plesac and Matthews I don't know enough about their broadcast style, so will wait and see.

    Re: Ron Santo Replacement

Personally, I'm hoping for Keith Moreland. He did an excellent job filling in for Ron several games last season. I'll miss Santo, but from an true analysis standpoint, he didn't offer much. We all know he was more of the 'voice of the fan' than a true color guy.

Moreland was a breath of fresh air in the booth, and worked very well with Pat. As someone who appreciated Steve Stone's detailed analysis (and uncanny ability to predict the outcome of specific game situations), I think Keith Moreland is right there at his level.

I think Moreland has done a good job the times I've heard him. I think he does Texas football games, though, and there would be a conflict on Saturdays in the fall. I can't image it would be a big deal to find a sub on a few Saturday afternoons.

I'd be fine with Moreland. I really don't care though, just anyone but Otto. He freaking sucks.

Sounds like Moreland and Otto are the finalists.
