    OT: The Avengers

Anyone been watching the Avengers cartoon on Disney XD? IMO it's the best super hero cartoon I've seen. I was wondering how it would translate to the movie coming out in a few years. Marvel is really undergoing an ambitious project with that movie. They seem to be building it the right way with the Iron Man movies and Thor and Captain America coming out this summer. I was wondering if the Wasp and Ant Man are going to be in the new movie. IMO they add a lot to the group. Also, I like in the cartoon how the Hulk isn't just a mindless monster. In most Hulk adaptations I've seen, he's just not a very good character. The new cartoon actually has him with a brain...still has the temper, but he's not the dumb monster that you see in most of the movies and cartoons. It will be interesting to see how they put this all together.

Yeah, I'm a comic book geek (who never really read comic books). For some reason, I've always like the Avengers more than other groups like the X-Men or the Justice League. Don't know why.

I've seen the pilot, and it was incredible.

If I understand correctly, a person can watch these at Marvel.com (free)

    Re: OT: The Avengers

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I've never heard of this show until now. Sounds good. I think that the Batman: The Animated Series is probably the best cartoon-comic combination, but it's about time Marvel came up with something like this. Hopefully this can be a good introduction to Thor and Captain America, as I have a vague understanding of those characters, but don't really know their full story.

Frak: An Ant-Man movie is rumored to be released in 2014 and will be directed by Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim).

They had whole episodes basically to show the background of Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Ant-Man & the Wasp. Plus, they delve into Black Panther and Hawkeye. It's been really fun to watch...just finished up a 3 part series with Kang the Conqueror. New shows are on Sunday mornings on Disney XD, which is somewhere around channel 296 on DTV. I just load up the DVR though.

For real? I stayed up late one night watching a bunch of these when we were at my parent's house over the holidays. I thought it was great, but we don't get Disney XD. It would be awesome to watch it online.

    Re: OT: The Avengers

I enjoy the show but have the exact opposite opinion of Hulk. I hate when they make Hulk intelligent and not have an alter ego (i.e. Secret War, even though that was a very good story arc). I am hoping they have Hulk as the bad guy in the movie as he was the bad guy to begin the original Avengers and then again in the Ultimates. I think if they threw in Wasp and Ant-Man that would be way too much for one movie. It is going to be tough enough introducing just Hawkeye (I love Hawkeye) let alone 2 more characters.

    Agree with everything here.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

So, you like your Hulk more like this:

"What a horrible night to have a curse."
    -Simon Belmont

"Please bury me with all my stuff, because you know it's mine..."
    -Master Shake

"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."
    -Lorem Ipsum

That is pretty awesome but I like Hulk in Ultimates more. A Hulk that eats people when he is ****** and tries to kill Freddie Prinze Jr (that would be an awesome cameo).

I don't know, most of the characters wouldn't need introductions since they have their own feature films. Either way, I'd rather have those two than Hawkeye...but I guess that's not going to happen. I would take Green Arrow over Hawkeye any day, but then I don't know who was really first with the super hero archer.

I'll disagree on Hulk. A character that basically has the mind of a two year old isn't compelling and couldn't function as part of a team. Hulk doesn't have to be Einstein, but don't make him a ******. He can still have the temper and rage yet be able to talk and understand the things around him.

He's still pretty child-like on the show. The few episodes I saw, anything on the rational side he did was more motivated by the "Banner" personality and not the "Hulk" personality.

    Re: OT: The Avengers

My guess to Avengers story-line is Skrulls invade earth and use Hulk to try to take down the Avengers. Avengers end up showing Banner/Hulk what the Skrulls are. Hulk joins the Avengers and the smacketh is laid down on the Skrulls.

On a bit a tangent... I am very pumped for the Captain America trailer that is going to be shown during the Superbowl. I am hoping they show Red Skull.

Are there for sure having Red Skull? It seems wrong to not have him, but I could see them going with Baron Zemo or something like that.

Yes. Mr. Smith from Matrix is playing him.
