    Rest of the season

Current Standing is 13-5 and 1-3 in Big 12

    Rest of the schedule:
    @ NEB - W
    vs MIZZ - W
    vs OKST - W
    @ OKLA - L
    @ KU - W
    vs KSU - W
    @ TTU - L
    vs COLO - W
    vs TEX - W
    @ KSU - L
    vs KU - W
    @ MIZZ - W

I'm still seeing a 22-8, 10-6 season. Depending on how Tech fairs down the stretch, that should be good for forth in the conference which tends to be a good spot of us in the conference tournament. The sky isn't falling.

    Re: Rest of the season

I hope your right. I see them winning out at home too, but unless they start stepping up I have a feeling there is at least one loss on the road at KU, NU, or MU.

8-8 conference record would be my prediction. That should still get into the tournament given the Big 12 prestige and our reputation.

You really think we are going to lose at Oklahoma and win at Kansas? Shouldn't those be reversed...

I think you are looking at the wrong forum and yes, I really do see us winning at KU and losing to OU in women's basketball.

In the history of the B12 no 8-8 team has ever been left out of the Big Dance. If we get to 8-8 we are in.

It's pretty simple - we have 6 home games left, need to win all of them, and steal at least one on the road (Mizzou) and get to 8 wins. We can steal games at Nebby, and the Kansas schools too if we play ball.

This is a bit of a side note, but how well do you think BF will fair with the new conference schedule next year? Obviously we can beat any team any given year, but lets face it we do benefit from having a weak North and that is much of how we get into the top 4 in years like this.

I think he'll be ok with it, you get a shot at everybody on your home floor instead of playing three teams from the south once on their home floor. I believe 9-9 in the league will be the magic number to get into the big dance based on the strength of the league. The two teams leaving are not really that strong.

That's the thing too. I think he will be ok, but those two teams typically equal at least 3 and sometimes 4 of our wins each year. It is certainly going to be a more difficult schedule for everyone. I bet the south teams are not happy about playing us in Hilton every year

I think that given the historic/recent strength of his program, he has to feel a lot better about it than FH or CPR do.

    Re: Rest of the season

I'm a FANATIC but I think the 8-8 predictions underestimate the potential of this team. At NU, one astonishing moment was when Bolte had a shot but dished for an assist to Cole who hit a three. In looking at the box score, that was Cole's only basket, but she had 6 assists and no turnovers. The team had 12 turnovers (including 3@ by Zim and Pop). While not great, that's pretty good considering NU plays decent defense. Another development during the season is Loz' better handling pressure. She hasn't played OU's DR yet, but, the refs let NU get pretty upclose and personal and Loz handled it well. Prins progress is self evident. Schroll said she will practice today - maybe she will return a better player after watching and thinking for two weeks. And Bolte - in addition to her scoring, she has become a multi-dimensional force who helps everyone else be better.

Ben, without saying who said it I think we have to look at Jess in the light of needing time to get back to where she was. She has had no physical activities resembling Big 12 at all and losing your legs in the middle of the year will reduce PT. IMO.
Per the OP picks I have gone to Lawrence so many times and come away a loser to teams that was not as good as us. The past 2 years KU has developed some kids with talent but injuries have hampered them but we still lost. Their bigs are good enough to make our lives miserable if ours does not come to play with aggression and urgency. Bonnie has also recruited some good guards so it will be a good match.

    Re: Rest of the season

Watching OU at OSU. OSU giving OU way more than expected. OU is looking more vulnerable. DR usual cocky and capable self and prone to fouls. She's a factor when playing. Hand limped off near the end of the first half. I haven't heard a report-she would be a huge loss for them. OSU has McIntyre - a big girl on the inside who Prins will love to play against.

Hand playing in second half - moving well.

It is still in Norman and OSU plays a style that is more likely to give OU fits. Also have to keep in mind that OSU/OU are in state rivals. A little less emotion for a ISU/ OU game than there would be fore OSU/ OU or ISU/IU. This is going to be a tough game and I'm not sure how anyone can pick us to win, but BF has been known for a "upset" or two.
