    Talk about a bitter booster.

This guy wants his 3 million back because Uconn hired the wrong coach.

This is kinda funny. My favorite part was this:

Not only is Burton demanding his money back, but he's going to stop renting a luxury box for games, stop funding a coaching clinic, withdraw the football scholarships in his name, and take his business elsewhere, to Syracuse.

I'm sure JP would welcome his support at ISU if he needs a new team :)

Really bonehead move by UCONN here, this stuff is all politics and I'm sure this donor has friends who may follow suit.

Apparently he is shopping around for someone to make him feel important so I'm sure he'd listen.

Probably there is a lot of *** to kiss with a lot of donors and probably the AD could use some work in that area but overall the guy sounds like an arrogant *****.

If I was donating $3M to the athletic dept for football, and my name was on facilities there, I would demand good communication for the $$$$ that I am providing!

Re: Talk about a bitter booster.

I don't see anything wrong with what the booster is doing here. For the amount of money he is donating he should have his voice heard or the AD isn't doing his job. If he wants to pull his support and his checkbook then so be it. It isn't like the guy is going Bobby Lowder (threatening to have members of the BOT killed, paying bribes to politicians to get his way, using his power and influence as a high dollar booster to get the AD fired, etc....).

Live by the sword, die by the sword. If you are going to take these people's money it would be foolish to think they wouldn't want some preferential treatment and insider access down the road. This is not a 100$ Cyclone Club membership we're talking about here (not that there's anything wrong with that!!).

He may be right. Not all ADs are great.

I have no problem with him no longer wating to donate money to them, but demanding that he get some of his donations back, thats ridiculous. If ISU basketball has a bad season, can I demand my Cyclone Club donation back?

Sounds like a risk-free proposition. ISU basketball never HAS bad seasons.

Dean Wormer was wrong. Fat, drunk and stupid was a great way to go through college (all five years of it).

We aren't talking about $100 here.... We are talking about a 3 million dollar donation. If he isn't satisfied with the performance of the man he is cutting that check to then he should ask for it back.
