Talk About a Made for TV Super Bowl.

Packers vs. Steelers, the two of the most lauded, and popular teams in NFL history are going to play each other in the championship game. I forecast a huge jump upwards in the TV rating for this year's Super Bowl. The game itself should be entertaining as well. Fox Sports must be absolutely drooling at the prospect.

Re: Talk About a Made for TV Super Bowl.

Yawn. Two teams I (and others I know) don't wanna watch. Don't wanna see the Packers win a Super Bowl because of their fanbase, don't wanna see the Steelers win another Super Bowl. Just sounds like a terrible game...

Quick, someone find me a bar in Ames without a TV and I'll tell you where I will be on February 6.

Well said.. I've decided to see a movie during the game. The two teams I refuse to root for are playing each other.. why watch? And I don't know if the steelers are more popular or hated today.. their image is not what it once was.

No problem with the Steelers, but big problem with the Steelers' QB. Go Packers.

Agreed. Since his success kinda goes with theirs, I'll root against them as long as they allow him to represent their organization.

Agreed. I would probably be supporting the Steelers, other than the fact that they haven't fired their QB. As it is, go Pack!

I've been a Green Bay fan all my life. Unless you're a Bears or Vikings fan, I find it hard to understand how anyone could hate them, they are the Iowa State of the NFL, the small town vs. big city, David vs Goliath.
And for fanbase, I would say that Green Bay and Pittsburgh have the best fans in the NFL.

I'll be in Vegas, so I'm not too worried who's playing. I'll be sure to find some prop bet to make the game interesting.

I can only speak for myself, but my feelings towards the packers have nothing to do with them beating the bears. I would cheer against them if it was for the super bowl or it if it was a preseason game against a group of known satanists. I'm sure its easy to label any negative feelings towards your team as sour grapes.. its just not the case. Even if the bears won the super bowl, I would still not like or cheer for the packers.. I respect that you feel differently, but for what its worth I'm over the packers win and still genuinely dislike them. And no I don't need a tissue. GL next game.. you're playing the one team I genuinely don't care if you beat. Good job with the rhyme though.. I love a good poem.

Lots of sour grapes from fans of all the LOSER teams! As the OP stated, these are two of the most popular teams.

That is exactly the way I feel. I am cheering for the Steelers just because I cannot stand packers fans. Wal mart is probably going to sell a lot of green starter jackets this week.

So you can't stand them because they are poor?

You guys can deny it all you want, but everyone can tell you are just butt-hurt from the Bears going down last night.

    Go Packers!!!

Being from a smaller city in the NFL is nothing like being from a smaller school in college football. I believe they won the first two superbowls as well, so I don't think they can qualify as a "David."
