    Here's one for Coach Elliott

Here's a guy that we should take a chance on if he's interested...he's in Coach Elliotts stomping grounds...California!!!!

Kyrie Wilson - OLB, once committed to Oregon, they retracted their offer today as their class is over filled. Now if a more talented athlete is to accept an offer, then less qualified players will be dropped. He's 6'-2" 211 lbs and runs the 40 in 4.57 (real timed at a Nike Camp). Could be a great addition to an already very good position on our roster. We can never stop getting athletes to play Defense...

    Go get him....

He could also be an option at safety.

Perfect frame and speed for a safety.

Man, that kid got screwed. Imagine making that committment, turning late suitors away, and then having it pulled two weeks before signing day. This is just lousy.

Imo, He would be a better olb. Put on only about 20 lbs and he would be a monster rushing from the outside. Not many safties in college are 6 ft +. We used to be lucky that or lb's were that tall.

You do realize it says 4.57, not 4.47???

He'd be an excellent replacement for Jake Knott one day.

has anyone emailed the staff or Bill directly to inform him of this kid yet? Wouldn't be a bad idea just in case.

I have been quite surprised on how well Coach Elliott has been recruiting. Hes been picking up Ash's job very well!

You are questioning him, but he is correct. 4.57 is plenty fast for a safety with size.

Here is an article that says the target time for a safety at the NFL combine is 4.6

Good post. People look at these times and think kids need t0 be in the 4.4s. Not that many players run 4.4s in the combine, but how many have that stat listed out of HS? I would take a guy with a recorded 4.57 at safety. There are tons of examples every year of players that looked uncatchable in college running bad times(Manninghams 4.61). And he still looks pretty fast in the pros. If the kid can play, get him.

We probably aren't recruiting him anyways. My guess is Colorado may jump in on this guy, since he is in Pac 10 territory and they need to pick up some late guys.
