Let's put this win in perspective

    Baylor:
Lacedarius Dunn- 4 star (#46 nationally)
    Anthony Jones-4 star (#44 nationally)
AJ Walton- 3 star (#138 nationally)
Perry Jones- 5 star (#9 nationally)
Quincy Acy- 4 star (#84 nationally)

    Iowa State:
Diante Garrett- 3 star (#123 nationally)
Scott Christopherson- 3 star (NR nationally)
Jake Anderson- 2 star (NR nationally)
Jamie Vanderbeken- 3 star (NR nationally)
Melvin Ejim- 3 star (NR nationally)
    SOURCE: rivals.com

Let's look at this now, on paper we should get beat by 20+ points. It's amazing what Fred is doing with the talent level he has. The players play hard for him, and it's very fun to watch.
The Magic's back, Fred's back, cyclONENATION!

Still a little skeptical as to how the blue chip pipeline got established at Baylor.

Amen. We took the floor against a deeper, much more talented team and we pounded them.

This is outstanding. I haven't seen this kind of heart and effort from a team in years.

    I love Freddieball.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Can't put a recruiting star rating on heart and team chemistry. These guys seem to really like playing together.

I don't think our basketball recruiting needs the help. Fred is a high school blue chips dream - his up tempo offense combined with his NBA connections should be enough for him to handpick his recruits. He won't win every battle, but he'll get enough of the guys he wants.

Re: Let's put this win in perspective

After watching this game Baylor seems a lot like our team last year. They have a lot of talented individuals, but no team. They didn't seem in sync at all and Dunn seemed to want to do everything himself.

Baylor was by far the more talented team today. Every single matchup (minus DG), Baylor had a HUGE advantage in height and basketball skill.

The fact we were able to run away with this game says a lot about our coaching. Fred and Lutz are doing miracles with no depth, no bigs, and not a ton of talent.

    Thank you for posting.
I have no doubt that this type of comparison can/could be made all season.
We are going to beat several teams that we shouldn't even have a chance to beat.
Fred has a way of making people believe in themselves and how their efforts can affect the outcome of a team effort.
How does that saying go ............... the sum of the parts is greater than the whole?

It's a bit ironic that this teams strengths are the exact same things that the team last year lacked (heart, chemistry and leadership).

Re: Let's put this win in perspective

What is it with Baylor coming up here their past 2 trips with better teams and laying eggs? Not taking anything away from our guys - today was pretty clear an us beating them thing. But I remember the '09 home game against Baylor - one we should have lost by a lot and Baylor didn't even show up to play.
