    Fantastic Rip on Iowa/Kinnick

This is a little old, so I'm not sure if its been on here before, but it is really great.....

    Iowa: Kinnick Stadium

The one for Ames isn't great, but much better than Iowa City....

    Iowa State: Jack Trice Stadium

I was JUST about to post that... I love the quote in the Iowa State one,

"So you may suck, but not nearly as much as Iowa City."

Laughing at the fans defending Kinnick. The Shrine? The Stadium? Beautiful girls? Fans in Iowa City must be stuck in a bubble, convinced their town exists somewhere on the west coast...

I thought Iowa City was just a western suburb of Chicago??

    My favorite quote:

"But because of your ****** baggery, Iowa, you only get this:"

I normally don't like to directly rip on Iowa, and I actually like the city, but this is just too priceless.

The Hawk fan's analogy to Wrigley was somewhat accurate- both stadiums are dumps. Ya-- Wrigley has ivy, but that's about it.

Sorry, Kinnick and Jack Trice are on totally different levels. It's easy to hate the Hawks, but I woudl trade JT for Kinnick any day.

    Re: Fantastic Rip on Iowa/Kinnick

I wouldnt, JTS has potential for the future, Kinnick can only go so much further. Now Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is a different story. Hawk fans think Kinnick is a tough gameday enviornment.. its not even close, infact it is probably the quietest place i have ever heard 70000 fans. Memorial Stadium, Kyle field are some truely outstanding places. Kinnick just never lived up to that.

I disagree. I've been to both stadiums, and Jack Trice is a lot more desirable for, like 33 said, its potential. Kinnick is wedged in between the hospital, various neighborhoods in University Heights, etc. with almost no room to expand. Given the finances, Jack Trice has plenty of room to expand from its current 45,000+ seating.

Am I the only one who has a problem with that "Honor before victory" sign? Personally, to me it sounds like losing is ok as long as you do it with pride. Sorry, doesn't fly with me. I'd rather it was something "Honor in victory". Assume you're going to win and do it with class.

It does have some history and a huge fanbase on its side and I like the brick facade, but these are all things we can have in the future. They will never have the beautiful campus with open green areas for tailgating, they will never be realistic about their teams, and they only host the Cyclones once every two years. I'll keep Trice, thank you.

Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man.

I love driving by on uni-elwood drive at night and just seeing the stadium up almost as its on a pedistal. There's nothing to block it or get in its way.
