    Proof We Can Hang

Let's be honest, the game was far from pretty last night. We dropped a lot of passes, missed some easy ones, and had a lot of fouls. But even with the sloppy play we only lost to the #3 team in the nation by 5 POINTS!! Thats awesome. We just proved we can hang with anybody. We tighten it up a little bit, get the freshmen some experience playing against real competition, and certain someone's arm gets better.... watch out big 12.

You know, if we figure out what we can and cannot do by Big 12 tournament time, we might be dangerous. We obviously waste several opportunities a game. So we can play better by end of the season.

Let's be honest. I don't want to "hang". I want to win.

I watched Barry Stevens do it to 10th ranked Missouri, with an undermanned, out-talented squad. It could have, it should have happened last night.

    It will in the future.

There were some head scratchers last night. But no team ever plays a perfect game, and we made our runs that were always one missed shot away from being the turning point. Great effort learn and move on. Baylor is up next and we have a very good chance to pick up that first conference win.

The game last night was awesome. We played so well with what we have to put out on the floor. Very proud of our guys and crowd.

That was the most fun Ive had in Hilton in quite some time.

I hate how anytime someone says something that evenly vaguely resembles a "morale victory" people jump down their throat. I'm not saying Im content with losing close games. I'm saying that since we can hang, we are putting ourselves in a position to win every game, something we didn't do last year.

While they obviously could go to their bigs anytime they wanted, Diante may have shown the rest of the Big 12 something of a blueprint last night. He got to the basket quite easily just about whenever he wanted.

KU is definitely a good team but if they have a weakness it's got to be defending an athletic guard who can penetrate.

I agree. Diante showed that if you just give him a simple high ball screen, KU will switch it, and the you've got a mismatch of a Morris trying to stop DG. I was shocked they didn't start trying to get through the screens on DG instead of switching everytime. DG got lots of layups/jumpers from it, and JVB got most of his 3's from driving and kicking off of it.
