Re: The Breakdown: Iowa State vs. Kansas

This is about as close as Fred is ever going to come to saying that the officials called some ******** fouls on JVB:

“He couldn’t stay on the floor there at the end of the game and I don’t think that it was the silly fouls that he was committing early in the year,” Hoiberg said. “It looked like he was trying to get out of the way of a few of them and he got a couple of tough whistles. That’s how it is, especially when you go on the road.”

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

I agree with your prediction that we'll lose by somewhere around 10 but we have been great coming out of halftime this year, something we were never good at when McDermott was the coach. I think that 12-2 run will come towards the middle of the second half when our lack of depth comes back to bite us.

I think one thing Michigan did to KU that changed the complexion of the game in Michigan's favor was using some different junk defenses effectively, and switching them up from time to time.

Question being, what kind of different defenses does our staff have up its sleeve? We tried a 1-3-1 earlier in the year, but Fred & Staff decided we don't have the length to play that effectively, so I'll be interested to see if we go back to the zone we played against NU, or if we have something else up our sleeve to throw at them.

I predict they will come out in the dot and four junk defense just to confuse them.

    I'm liking the pick Chris.

Box and 1 and go from there. Hopefully that allows enough help on the Morris boys and Jake can control Selby.

Dont leave Reed open. He is almost as good as Scotty when it comes to shooting threes. We HAVE to minimize the amount of turnovers.

Please god, just let us win this one.
