    Bring on the HUSKERS...

As BF said in the interview you have to win your home games and do your best on the road in the Big 12. So, here is a good opportunity to get back into the win column for the sisters. After all that I had heard about the Huskers being so down this year, I can't see it in their stats. They have four players averaging in double figures. They return an experienced point gaurd and have added what looks to be a contender for freshman of the year in the Big 12. As Texas will probably tell you no game is a sure thing in this conference. Missouri beating Texas was a big shocker as MO has a new coach and is in a major rebuilding year. I am picking the Clones by 12.

The matchup of Hooper and Hallie should be a good one. They have played against each other a lot in summer ball and both are having great freshman seasons. Loz should be able to work against their point gaurd as they are about the same size. I also expect a big night out of Bolte.

Here are the names and numbers for the Huskers:

35 Hooper, Jordan F 6-2 Fr. Alliance, Neb. (Alliance)
24 Kelley, Dominique G 5-7 Sr. Lincoln, Neb. (Northeast)
20 Leick, Katya F 6-1 So. Grey Cloud Township, Minn. (Park)
55 Maurer, Adrianna C 6-3 Fr. Shawnee Mission, Kan. (Bishop Miege)
    1 McCann-Smith, Kellie G 5-9 Fr. Asotin, Wash. (Clarkston)
00 Moore, Lindsey G 5-9 So. Covington, Wash. (Kentwood)
13 Periago, Jessica C 6-4 Sr. Toulon, France (National Sport School)
44 Redmon, Catheryn C 6-3 Sr. Grand Prairie, Texas (Mansfield Timberview)
12 Reeves, Layne G 5-11 So. Lubbock, Texas (Trinity Christian)
21 Sidhu, Harleen F 6-1 Jr. Surrey, British Columbia (Fleetwood)
14 Simon, Katie F 6-2 Fr. Roseville, Calif. (Roseville)
10 Williams, Meghin F 6-1 So. Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (Summit)
33 Woodberry, Rebecca G 5-10 Fr. Phoenix, Ariz. (Tolleson Union

Who did Hooper play summer ball with that she played against Hallie a lot? Hallie only played on the Attack team for one summer and didn't even travel with them to every tournament.

    Re: Bring on the HUSKERS...

Most of their stats, like ours, have been made against lesser teams though their SOS is a little better than ours 66/85. Our rpi is better than theirs 41/90 because our record is better at 12-3 / 9-5. Unless there has been a drastic change, 24 Kelley, Dominique G 5-7 Sr. Guard will play little if at all. Moore, Lindsey G 5-9 So. pg may be their most talented player - played as a frosh last year. I haven't seen Hooper play, she is the unknown quantity though she has done well as a frosh so far. The OU game got away from them, I don't think (hope not anyway) that OU is that much better than NU. Bill suggests we came away from Waco in good spirits and have had good practices. I think we'll do well - double digit win.

If there's going to be a betting board for this game, now is a good time.

It was the other Nebraska team. Cady played for the Bison and Hooper played for the Lincoln team. Both teams were at the Attack tournament in Ames and I think they played in a couple of other tournaments last summer. I could be wrong though.

I hope there is a decent crowd tonight. The students are back so I hope it is loud and rowdy. The guy that cleans my lane didn't make it so I am stuck here instead of being at the game.

    Re: Bring on the HUSKERS...

I listened to Connie's presser. She did a lot of "were a young team," comments. The media there definitely had an interesting tone in their questions, like Nebraska is a "power" now, and she kept saying, "We lost 5 seniors," etc. Wouldn't want her shoes.

Be curious if Dominique Kelley plays much. Sounds like she has two plaguing injuries.

About ready to tip at Hilton. Despite the weather, it looks like there will be a solid crowd for Iowa State vs. Nebraska.

    Re: Bring on the HUSKERS...

The Huskers are double teaming the Iowa State post players which is causing some problems. 7-0 at the first media timeout.
