    Question Bolt & Mcfarland

Do you think they will be on the sidelines or in the press box this season?Personally I like seeing coordinators in the press box where they can see the game from a fans view.

    Re: Bolt & Mcfarland

I know if I were a coach I'd prefer being in the press box. But it would really depend on the players, if they were the type that didn't need direct coaching during a game then I'd be in the press box, but if they did then i'd be on the sidelines.

Is anybody else really anxious to see what these guys are going to be like in game situations as far as play calling and schemes? I really think a lot of the success of this team will depend on these two, rather then Chizik alone.

If they're in the press box, they better stay away from the food!

I hope Bolt's on the field so we can hear him during the game. Actually, maybe we'd hear him from the press box anyway...

The way Bolt was yelling at the spring game I would think it would be hard to contain him in a press box. That guy has some pipes!

    Re: Bolt & Mcfarland

Chizik was press box coordinator, so I wouldn't be surprised if he put the DC up there.

    Re: Bolt & Mcfarland

I doubt if either coordinator is in the pressbox on gameday. Chizik may have done so at TX, but he was probably there more for his secondary responsibilities than his DC role.

My guess for the D is Raney with Koonz as a second choice. The 3 years that Raney spent working with Bolt should put them on the same page in terms of what they are looking at. With either one, there would still be a secondary coach on the sideline.

I don't expect to see McFarland upstairs primarily due to the need to be close to the OL on gameday. Rodgers would be my choice due to his QB background and prior work with McFarland.

at TX he was a co-DC so I'm sure the other was on sidelines. I like to see on sidelines.

    Re: Bolt & Mcfarland

I'd prefer the McFarland (OC) on the field and Tony Petersen (QB coach) in the pressbox. Petersen can relay the opposing team's defensive scheme to McFarland and Meyer via headsets.

As for the defense... Bolt (DC) on the field and (insert position coach here) in the pressbox.

If he is on the field, I hope he does not pace, clap his hands, and then snort.

    Re: Bolt & Mcfarland

I wouldn't be surprised to see McFarland in the box and Bolt on the field. Bolt seems to be a guy the players really respond to and it seems a waste to have him not on the sidelines.

I'm not too worried about the Taliban.

Chuck Norris, on the other hand...
