    5-8 commits to go . . .

Updated List (Saturday 1:30 pm) from Rivals database (non-premium) and comments made in this thread; look OK?

Did not find visit info for Gilbert, Robbins, or Williams. I marked Maggitt as a visit since he's been to Ames (more than once?) unofficially.

The offense list numbers eight, seven of which are receivers (including a tight end). Interesting focus that no doubt pleases most of us.

The defensive list is composed of a two DLs, two LBers, two DBs, and an Ath.

    OFFENSE (8)
    -----------

    Babineaux, Kori (WR) 6-3, 200 *** Cal &
    Bundrage, Quenton (WR) 6-2 180 *** Fla #

Gonzalez, Ruben (WR) 6-3 200 Fla
    Johnson, Kaleb (OL) 6-5 280 *** Fla #
Mutcherson, TJ (WR) 5-11 190 ** Fla (Juco)
    Pleasant, Everett (TE) 6-4 218 *** Tex &
    Rufus, Dennis (WR) 6-2 195 *** Cal

    DEFENSE (7)

With Devondrick Nealy's decision, we have 20 known commitments.

With JUCOs Steele Jantz (QB), Samuel Tautolo (OL), and prep Jevohn Miller (LB) enrolled for second semester and likely to be counted against the 2010 class, how many more football student-athlete commitments are we able to accept? (An ongoing topic of discussion here, I know.)

Just a reminder what CPR has said on that score. During the fall, he said he expected to sign a class of 22. At the end of the season, the figure he tossed out was 20. So, minus the early enrollees, we might have three-to-five open scholarships.

If five, we've got room for whomever we truly need to get in the 26 days before NSD arrives, do we not? A couple of weeks ago, like many others here, I was worried we were closing out the class without landing key DL players. But, we've got room for 'em, most likely . . . correct?

If five, any educated opinions about which five we'll get, and which five we most need (not necessarily the same thing)?

From my count, the 25 class limit is not going to affect them. They can count a few of the 2010 class back a year and a couple more of the 2011 class back a year. It's the 85 limit that they're up against. Expect to see 8-12 players leave the team, transfer or graduate early. Just my opinion, but I think that they sign 27...Mutcherson, Hadley, Grady, Johnson, Green, Bundrage and Pleasant. If any of those players go somewhere else, I think that ISU may just bank the scholarship.

I think we could actually add 6. I think we would want Green, Johnson, Grady, Mutcherson, Hadley, and either Gonzalez or Rufus. I think Mutcherson, Hadley, and Grady will either all come or none will come, and we are hosting too many WR prosepcts for me to think we will not add one more.

I think at worst we try to get Green, Rufus, and one of the big receivers(Bundrage or Gonzalez). Mutch, Hadley and Grady would be the better talents for those positions though, as I think we would move TJ over to defense.

    Frak, hey,

I keep thinking about a class smaller than 25 (excluding those counting against 2010) because CPR continued to mention a smaller number. But, things change, of course, and oftentimes quickly.

Can they count 2010 kids back to 2009 now, at this date? And, I've read that a program can only include three against the previous year's class. But, that doesn't include gray shirts. . . . Boy, the next time this is explained here, I'm going to save a copy. The rules details are easy to forget.

Have you made the count, then, against next fall's class of 85? You believe we have room for 27, with three counting against 2010?

Cam Henderson picked UCF and I thought there was another DE that picked elsewhere?

What about Walton Taumoepeau and Bojay F. from Juco?

We will see who leaves. I think if 3 guys leave the program, we may see a full class plus the 3 early enrollies. That gives us 8 more.

Yaman, have you commented on the group from which the final commitments will come? I'm just now plugging into the information for the final weeks of the recruiting campaign.

Who would you add/delete to the list I just posted? Thanks much.

BTW, who has already visited among the above group, and who is scheduled to visit? I'll mark them as such.

Green is one of the top JUCO DT remaining, and Kaleb Johnson is a highly sought after HS guard from Florida that we would try to convert to DT. Both are visiting. IMO, the only DE we would probabaly take right now is Curt Maggit.

I think this is the list of guys that are visiting or that we're strongly recruiting:

    Josh Grady
    Angelo Hadley
    T.J. Mutcherson
    Quenton Bundrage
    Louvan Green
    Kaleb Johnson
    Everett Pleasant
    Dennis Rufus
    Armonze Daniel
    and possibly, Curt Maggitt

CyValley you need to add Armonze Daniel to your list. OLB with visit scheduled.

Terran Williams is another OLB with a visit supposedly scheduled.

Also..don't forget to include Nick Kron to this year's class. He was a greyshirt from last year.
It is also being said there is a mystery DB commit.

That technically puts us at 22 commits.

    Re: 5 commits to go . . .

I would say I'm about 90% sure Clim Robbins is part of this class. There was the twitter deal in which he was named as a CYclone and then another DB didn't get to visit because someone took his spot. I think it has to be him but I don't want to say it is for sure. The evidence just points that way.

Cedric Gilbert is another guy. Also, Kori Babineaux
