Ohio State and Iowa prove that....

... having your players get into trouble before the bowl game actually gives the team something to rally around and makes them play better. They both won their bowl games.

Of course, OSU was able to play with their troublemakers, while Iowa's were suspended, but both teams seemed to rally behind the controversy. Interesting.

Somehow, I dont think that is the only conclusion you can gather from that data.

Well then we should have one or two players get busted for drugs and other crimes before every game next season. We will probably be undefeated because the team will have all that extra motivation!

Of course we should make sure they get busted for all different types of crimes because you never know how the team will react to the more severe crimes vs. less severe ones. Once we figure out what the most motivational crimes are, we can just concentrate on getting busted for those from that point forward.

I'm not sure how that proves anything except that they recruit idiots.

Says a fan of the school that recruited David Sims and Jason Berryman. EVERY schools has their share of idiots. It's not just Iowa. It's not just Iowa, Iowa State, and Florida. A great line (that always makes me chuckle) from House:

Idiots are fun. No wonder every village wants one.
