Hoiberg quotes on Jordan Railey's suspension

Here is Fred Hoiberg's quote from his post game presser on Jordan Railey's suspension.

“We suspended Jordan for a violation of team rules. We are still gathering information on everything that went down. We felt that it was appropriate to give him a suspension tonight. Hopefully we will continue to gather information. I am not going to talk a lot about it. I can’t. I just can’t do it right now with all of the stuff that is still out there. Until I gather all of the information, it is not something that I am going to comment on, but I will in due time.”

Please don't overreact and kick him off the team. 3 game suspension, tops.

Exactly. Dumb decision but it's his first issue. A few games off.

I am sorry but I am going to have to disagree with you if there is alcohol involved. If not then I can re-evaluate.
If he was drinking and if his BAC comes back and shows that, then I want more than 3 games. He was risking people's lives if that did happen.
I don't want to jump to conclusions but this is not looking good.

Exactly. Every time somebody gets an OWI, a bunch of people overreact and talk about them getting kicked off the team. They are always wrong. And every single time they freak out about it. Every time, in FB they get a one-game suspension. So probably a couple games suspended in basketball.

You give a guy a 2nd chance in this situation....... unless you think you can fill his scholarship with a better player......just kidding.

Give him one more chance if it turns into a DUI

It's hard to predict what will happen when we don't know the story. That being said, I'm sure Fred will be stern with his punishment to set an example for the other players.

Re: Hoiberg quotes on Jordan Railey's suspension

In terms of setting a disciplinary precedent, when is the last time we had somebody get in trouble for a similar situation in-season and what were the consequences?

Say what you will about Greg McDermott and his many failures, but I don't remember player misconduct being one of them.

Re: Hoiberg quotes on Jordan Railey's suspension

This is something that's way out of character for him. He made a mistake, you punish him and everyone moves on. Kicking him off would be just dumb.

So now it's Freds fault? Shame on him for not babysitting everyone.

    Mike Taylor? Chris Colvin?

Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd
