RichRod To Pitt makes a lot of Sense

So I saw this on ESPN.Com and wanted to comment on here, my biggest fear right now with our program is losing CPR to a University that can pay him or where he has ties. So in an effort to ease my mind, Why wouldn't RichRod head out to Pitt other than his contract pay out is enough to give him a few years off. Or wait, get fired, take settlement and then go to Pitt. I would love to see him take it thus relieving my fear of god forsake Pitt. Any thoughts?

I think he needs a change of venue. A big offense and no defense is not Michigan football.

CPR is NOT going to Pitt. CPR is NOT going anywhere for a couple of years at the earliest.

Re: RichRod To Pitt makes a lot of Sense

Richrod would do good for himself to land on his feet in a place as good as Pit..... It would be a bit weird for him to end up at WV's biggest rival. Pitt really stepped in a mess.......they should fire their AD before they do anything else. Funny how he made a terrible hire at Nebraska and now has done the same thing for Pitt.

Any new names out there for Pitt? I heard Marvin Lewis, but that didn't make too much sense to me.

Why doesn't Pitt go after Mike Leach? He didn't get the Maryland job and the spread would tear up the Big East like WV does when they are on their game.

Re: RichRod To Pitt makes a lot of Sense

Rich Rod has to get fired first. I don't think he's going to quit on that. It may make sense for him to quit, but sinc ehe has possibly the most explosive player in the game, I just don't think he has given up like most have. I guess right now, IMO, if Michigan can't get Harbaugh, they would be best served keeping RR for another year and if he doesn't get it done, they can make a run at someone else. There is no one out there that is all that exciting outside of Harbaugh and i htink if you give him a year, Urban Meyer will be ready to rebuild another program. Of course, there are a few very good DCs out there and if RR can get one of them, then maybe he can save his job. I am speaking of Randy Shannon and Teryl Austin. I don't think that defense will have to be great next year. An average defense should get them to 9 wins.

Pitt/WV is a nasty rivalry. As much as he made himself a villain by leaving his alma mater to go to Michigan I couldn't see this happening.

Re: RichRod To Pitt makes a lot of Sense

Breaking news: this "great Michigan offense" only scored 14 points against Mississippi State. Michigan has issues on both sides of the ball. I doubt Pitt fans would be doing cartwheels over RichRod coming. They should hire DC Bradley from Penn State. He wants the job.

Not to validate Michigan's offense, but Mississippi State did have a top 25 scoring defense this year. Michigan wasn't facing a cupcake on the other side of the ball as evidenced by the final score.

Coaches don`t quit on contracts that have guaranteed terms, unless they have a better deal. Richrod will get his severence from Mich, then he will look elsewhere.

I agree michigan has a lot more problems than just its defense. The offense also sucks mega.

I would lots rather have Paul Rhoads than Rich Rod anyday.

Re: RichRod To Pitt makes a lot of Sense

There's this perception that Leach is a trouble maker, but as long as administrators leave him alone and do his job, he's a great coach. It's not like the guy was running crooked crime ridden programs, and getting into trouble.

He made the ****** bag son of a famous ****** bag sit in a dark closet and that's why he lost the job.

When your defense (or lackthereof) is as porous as Michigan's is, that is a lot of pressure to have on the offense. More opportunities on offense = more opportunities to score. With a defense like Michigans where the opposing offense eats the clock and is going to score... I can't think of a worse scenario for an offense to have to overcome.

I'm not sure who said it, but if Michigan's offense could face Michigan's defense every game... Denard Robinson would have won the Heisman with ease.
