    Broncos, Elway close to reuniting

Looks like Elway is coming back to be Denver's chief football executive and it's about time. If anyone can bring the glory of Bronco football back it's #7. Article suggests that he might interview Jim Harbaugh.

Yeah, he wants Harbaugh, San Fran wants Harbaugh and Michigan wants Harbaugh. Buckle your seatbelts this could be a fun week.

high risk imo. i became a fan of the cos when i was just a little kid because of #7. i would hate for him to come back and fail-especially if it was with the broncos. kind of a freddie hire imo.

He's not coming in to be a coach, just to be an executive. He's got experience in this department, as he owns an arena league team.

i realize that. i said KIND of a freddie hire in that they are hiring a legend of the franchise. yes he owned the arena team in denver, but evaluating arena league guys is a bit different from the league. i just hope this doesn't become millen2.0

Compared to the tools making the FB decisions for Denver right now, I think anything he does will be a huge improvement.

agree. i seriously can't get my head around the damage mcdouchebag did in such a short amount of time. ok-the cutler trade, i get, and on paper, it should have been a great trade looking at it now. orton played damn near as well, plus i think they got 2 1st rounders and a 3rd? the problem-they drafted moreno while already having hillis-and yes, hillis did quite well for denver before his injury. then they traded the other 1 to get the 1st pick of the 2nd round to draft alphonso smith, who they then traded for a 3rd string te. a 1st round pick traded for a 3rd string te in 1 year.

then they trade marshall, which again, on paper, i didn't have a problem with-he was a punk, and they got 2 2nd round picks in return. i liked the thomas pick, although i'd rather had dez.

the tebow thing is unbelievable. i have no idea wtf anyone was thinking here, and i happen to like the guy. i want to root for him, but a 1st round pick when you already have a lot invested in orton, and they had just brought in quinn(for hillis-ugh!). they probably could have waited till the 3rd round to get him, and if he was gone by then-so what!?

add to this bringing in the ex patriots like maroney, etc for way to good of picks and you see the results. they need a total rebuild right now. the offense was ranked #1 when he was hired, the defense wasn't in horrible shape, just needed a little retooling and i think they could have been contenders. instead, they look like it may be 5 years before they have a legitimate shot at going to the playoffs again.

Well said especially the Tebow part. I also like the guy's game but a first round pick he IS NOT. A loss today ensure Denver the #2 pick. Where does Denver goes with that pick?

so many holes. i have no idea. if carolina doesnt take luck, which i doubt happens, then obviously he has to be the guy-tebow or no. outside of that, draft defense PLEASE! lb's, d-line, then safeties.

I have given up on all speculation on this deal. To be honest, I am wore out by the whole situation. I don't even care anymore.

O line is fine. they are just young and McD's complicated scheme didn't help either. Only thing we really need is a quality backup tackle.

As for the defense. we need to get younger. i hope to sign champ, wont be crushed if we dont. I want 2 d-line and an inside linebacker high in the draft. Having Doom and a healthy ayers should help with the pressure issue.

agree with everything. bailey has been a great bronco, and i think that they got the better end of that trade as portis seemed to go downhill in a hurry, but i won't be disappointed if they let him go. the secondary is OLD-dawkins, hill, bailey-all on the backside of their prime if not past it. cox seems like he has some talent, but the off the field stuff is not good. dumervil back will be a huge help, ayers has shown some flashes, and williams is a solid lb. beadles was pretty good as a rookie, and a healthy clady is key to the offense. i think there are a few key pieces to build around, but this is no doubt going to be at least a 2 year rebuild imo.

i'm still not sure if moreno is the right guy either.
