    Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

The Wiggles are coming to Hilton November 2nd and my wife really wants to take the kids. We have never been to a live show. Has anyone here? I need to know if it is worth it. Tickets are between 18 and 35 smacks. If you would rather not admitt in public that you have attended, you can PM me.

Re: Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

My wife and both grandma's went last wear with my daughter.

My 3 1/2 year old (at the time) absolutely loved the show.

The grandma's and my wife have also taken her to the Very Hungry Caterpillar at CY Stevens.

We took her and the 2 year old to Sesame Street Live earlier this year at the Well.

The kids have loved all the shows we've taken them to so far.

Of course my 2-year old's favorite was his first women's bball game when he got to high-five CY!! He still talks about that!!!

I haven't been to Wiggles, but I have been to Sesame Street Live. I was in extreme pain the whole time, but the kids seemed to love it.

Re: Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

    Haven't been to the wiggles.

But we routinely got called in by the nieces to take them to Dora shows. Sounds about the same price.

My answer would be what you might expect. To me, getting upwards of $200 in tix (wife, sister, three kids) isn't remotely worth it when looking at the credit card statement.

Show night, kids loved it. (yes, I found it mildly amusing as well)

Word of advice, as I'm sure this is standard fare for all kids-oriented shows. Get them in - get them out. Price of the tickets is almost insignificant when the kids catch sight of the merchandise tables.

    And feed them beforehand.

$5 for cotton candy is a bit rich for me.

I've been. It was a good show but probably would have been better if I had kids...

    J/K

It was a good show and our kids liked it but make sure your kids are going to be able to remember it (I'm not sure if ours do) otherwise it's just a waste of money IMO.

Excellent. Well maybe we will go. Its hard to shell out money for this stuff when you know darn well you could have put it towards something better. =)

stand by to have a song stick in your head until you go postal on something. Every song they sing will stick with you like " it's a small world"

Re: Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

I have tried to shelter my kids from the Wiggles, but am mostly unsuccessful. I recently bought them each a $5 MP3 player and filled it up with what I consider "good stuff", i.e. Beatles, Shel Silverstein poems, etc. and they love it.

I just can't handle the Wiggles. You are a brave man. I'd rather see Michael Bolton duet with Celine Dion. Ok, maybe not.

Re: Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

My 3 girls absolutely love the Wiggles, and it shows that since we have a DVR we have to record every show and they watch it over and over and over and over. And I definitely agree with the comment about the stupid songs sticking in your head. My kids went to Sesame Street live a while back but I was lucky enough that my wife went with CY ST8's wife and they took the kids while we went to the Iowa Cubs game.

As often as I have to put up with the Wiggles, it would be just my luck that the camera would find me right when I forgot where I was singing along word for word to one of there many jingles. That would take years of therapy to erase.

Re: Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

Went last time they were in Ames. Fortunately, a friend of mine at the local radio station offered me free tickets. Was a fun time (esp. knowing I didn't have the shell out the bucks for it) but the wife had to shell out $$ for sailor's hats & "featherswords."

If you go, hopefully the chitlins will remember it with fond memories...

My suggestion is to let the family go inside so you can start tailgating for the K-State game the next day.

Well, look at it this way, it doesn't last long. My 5 year son old has moved on from Bob the Builder, The Wiggles, anything on PBS Kids Sprout, etc. and is big time into Toon Disney's Jetix.

I'd rather wished he stay on with Bob the Builder, Power Rangers is just a tad too intense for a 5 year old, well, at least that's what I think.

Re: Opinion regarding the um Wiggles

Man i tell you what, I have gotten my 3 year old to watch transformers, fraggle rock and stuff like that. He still likes the wiggles and sesame street for the musical aspects. Does it seem like there are more sissy type shows now then there were in the 80s? I mean I had transformers, heman, gi joe, voltron, sesame street, fraggle rock, etc. Now they have the wiggles, johnny and the sprites, handy manny, etc.
