    Weis headed to Florida

Deal to become Florida's offensive coordinator is already in place according to "sources". Chris Mortensen claims it's a done deal.

Since the day Weis was hired by the Chiefs, rumors of Haley and Weis hating each other have been rampant here in KC. Believe it or not, Josh McDaniels is the reported replacement for Chiefs' OC. Remember the handshake drama between Haley and McDaniels after the Broncos rolled the Chiefs in Denver.

Pioli and McDaniels worked together in New England and are apparently good friends. Pioli has the final say but would listen to Haley. Both are young, hot headed offensive-minded coaches. Seems like asking for trouble but who knows. As a Chiefs fan, I'd be all for it if they can make it fit.

Yes and no. Weis is obviously an excellent OC. The Chiefs have a very talented young upcoming coach in Sirianni who is very close to Haley. He's done wonders for Cassel this year. He's not ready to be an OC, but he's getting there. I'd be more concerned if Romeo was leaving. We're more than covered on the offensive side of the football.

    Re: Weis headed to Florida

    suck.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Despite all of the success on Offense coming full circle when Charlie came into town, I think he gets too much credit. He deserves some credit, but the notion that the Chiefs' offense will look like Nebraska's (Zing!) if he leaves is overblown.

I agree. There are several (including Haley) excellent offensive football minds coaching the Chiefs. Remember the name Nick Sirianni. He's Haley's self-appointed protege. He will be a household coaching name in five years. Charlie "fixed" Cassel with a lot of help from Sirianni.

I might like the Chiefs even more if Weis leaves. That guy is an out of control egomaniac.

Same here. I'd also be ******, but I have serious doubts that it would ever happen.

    Re: Weis headed to Florida

I'm a bit perplexed as to why Weis would go back to the college ranks. I've heard the rumors that he and Haley don't get along, but I'd think there would be other NFL teams he could go to. I guess maybe it wouldn't be as bad for him to go back to the college level as a coordinator than as a head coach.

Not a big fan of Weis, but I do like what he's doing with the KC offense.
