It's nice to see one of our guys pulling away from the pack. What's his 40 time?

I can't read it well on that video but I swear it says 4.17, which I will call BS on. My guess is around 4.45.

Looks like a perfect fit for Herman's system. If the defense doesn't make that initial tackle on him he gone.

I've been saying all along that I'm excited about Jarvis West. I see him and all I can think of is JJ Moses.

    That's what I see too. I'm sure some kids list 3.9s 40's.

Rivals lists his 40 at 4.6, which must be wrong as well.

I was watching West Virginia tonight. They have a bunch of short guys. Those guys are also lightning. I don't care about short, especially on offense. I would like one big reciever, but I don't really care if we run a bunch of quick munchkins out there.

It might not be. He might just be football fast.

I'm not sure but I doubt he was on special teams and I don't remember him being on offense so my guess is yes.

    West never played this year.

I really hope we see something with him. I was super excited for him. We need so much improvement from our offensive skill players for the next season.

I live in Omaha and have been watching Lampkin since he was in middle school. The kid is electric. ISU is getting a weapon with this kid.

    Re: Teddy Lampkin..

A little perspective. If you want to call West and Lampkin "extremely explosive", consider that "explosive" for a football player is generally represented by a 10.4 or 10.5 track time in the 100m. Ellis Hobbs clocked a 10.63 best in HS.

West and Lampkin have "best" times of something like 10.8 and 10.9, respectively. Nice, but nothing overpoweringly fast. So I wouldn't start hyping them yet.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

Maybe not breakaway speed, but if they can go from zero to full speed in just a couple of steps, then they will be valuable. This is why the 40 is typically more useful in football than the 100.

A couple of quick guys in the slot, like the guys T Tech used to have would be incredibly productive.

    Re: Teddy Lampkin..

Suppose it depends on how a person defines "explosive". Teddy did run a 10.80 in the Nebraska State Track Finals. But he also had a 48'3" in the triple jump and a 24'5" in the long jump. You have to fairly "explosive" to rack up those distances in the jumping events. And for what it's worth, he was clocked at 4.37 in the 40 yard dash at the U.S. Army National Combine.
