I came home for break to find my parents internet running slow (getting .3 mbs up/down on 1.5 mbs service, usually got >1.2mbs on a speed test), so currently I am trying to fix it and I am completely lost. They said Qwest brought out a new modem/router and that didn't fix it. I have tried resetting the modem, unplugging all the other phones in the house just in case we had a bad DSL filter and I'm still having no luck. I think I have it narrowed down to either we have a bad phone cord going to the modem, we have a bad wall phone jack, or there's a problem with the DSL service in the area, and I'm pretty sure it's not a bad cord or jack. Any tech guys out there with experience on this? Any other ideas?
