Being in First and Staying there

Click the link to read a little article I wrote on CubsHub.com. I know it has been sometime since I last wrote on there, but hopefully things will turn around.

Hopefully things stay the same. It is fun to watch cubs fans go on emotional rollecoasters only to have their hearts ripped out at the last second. Sorta like being and ISU fan.

I just hope they stay hot when they come to Houston. This town is buzzing about the Cubs coming - I've got my tickets and can't wait!!

Re: Being in First and Staying there

Well losing Soriano 2-4 weeks is a big blow now. I'm not even sure where to go with who fills in while he's out. I don't trust Pie yet, I like Murton but not sure he's the answer at the moment either. So do the Cubs make a move and maybe pick up someone off waivers like Sosa? Not sure what to think about Sammy back at Wrigley but he does have some pop in his bat that we could use.

I'm assuming in the short term Theriot will be the leadoff guy like he should have been all along, Fontenot probably plays more 2B and bats #2 and DeRosa plays some RF more now. Floyd I'm not sure can hold up long enough to play LF every day so guessing Pagan and Jones will get some time there as well.

Also, glad to see Kerry Wood back last night and he was throwing some heat! A few 94-95 MPH fastballs and some filthy breaking balls. He'll be a big boost to the pen if he can stay healthy and continue to throw that way.

This will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Just as things were picking up, they are falling right back down. Of course Milwaukee is helping us out by losing as well.

Good thing the Cardinals have lost 5 in a row as well to stay 8 back in the division because would hate to see them crawl back into this now.
