You know, I am kind of happy he hit this. It makes an already crappy joke of a sport even more of a joke. Until they actually start testing, no one can complain, baseball did this to themselves.

Hank is still da Man.... Baroid is still Baroid. Man who used steroids. Ever noticed how many "Steroids are bad" are being shown during the game?

    Note to Barry Bonds:

Enjoy the HR record for a little while. Most baseball fans hope the record will belong to A-Rod in 5-6 years or Ryan Howard in 12-14 years. Then the record will belong to a player who didn't juice and we can all bury the steriod controversy.

    Re: OT:755

I'll just be happy when he hits one more and the record is his so we don't have to see his face every 2 secs when a game is on. The other night the camera would cut to him and all he was doing was standing in the dug out.

Howard has 111 at age 27. That means to catch up to A-Rod, he'll habe to hit something like 80 a year for the next five years.

On a different note, will anyone win 300 games again after Glavine? Buehrle has 106 at age 28 and he was mentioned a few years ago as having the best shot at it, along with CC Sabathia, but with the extension with the Sox, we can't count on him getting a whole lot of run support.

    Re: OT:755

Why does everybody have to hate on Barry. Granted he made a mistake and "most likely" knowingly took steroids but so was over half of the major leagues at the time too. Nobody hate's on Jose Canseco, Sammy Sosa, Mark Mcgwire, Jason Giami and so on. Nobody said McGwire should have an astrix next to his record at the time even though there was rumors of steroids with him. I think it's great that Barry is about to break the all time home run record. This is something you see once and maybe twice in a life time. Whether you love or hate Barry you have to admit he's one heck of a baseball player with or with out steroids. He's one of the best to ever play the game!

    Re: OT:755

I was a Bonds hater #1 for most of the time since the BALCO scandal. I was so happy when his knee went out a few seasons ago because I knew then that he'd never have a chance at the record. Now that he's tied and will eventually break the record, I'm to the point of feeling that until baseball proves that he used, then there's no reason to get all fired up about it. I do think that there will come a day, in 10-20 years, where all the players of the steroid era are retired and begin to spill the beans about what is really going on in the clubhouse.

I admit he's got an eye for the ball, but hate his attitude.
