    ISU insulted on the yardbarker

    Worst BCS conference coaching jobs

I have posted my thoughts to the writer
Doubt it will make it through moderation though.

"Nice job putting together such a comprehensive list from your mom’s basement"

Re: ISU insulted on the yardbarker

This is a quote from the article:
"These are the 10 worst BCS coaching jobs based on each program’s history, financial support, fan base, recruiting, location and facilities."

I really see nothing wrong with that list to be honest. Until ISU starts winning meaningful games.......that is the way it is.

There is less than 70 BCS schools and i would have put us on that top 10 list also.

Trick to getting off the list:
10 years of winning, better facilities and more revenue. Cant change the weather, but there are lots of winning teams in bad weather doing just fine.

Now if there was a list that was called: "Doing more with less" Then ISU has to be one of the top schools out there.

Look at it this way. Kansas and Baylor are considered worse jobs than us. Considering Kansas has been to a BCS game, and Baylor is in Texas, that is not so bad. I do not know how KSU excaped the bad job category. Unless your name is Bill Snyder you do not win in Manhattan, KS.

It's pretty accurate. I would add Kansas State and Minnesota to the list.

It is sad how many schools in the Big 12 are listed.

If you break it down this way, it's pretty easy to see.

    History: bad

Financial Support: One of the lowest athletic dept budgets in the nation

Fanbase: 43,000 give or take. Maybe bump it to 50,000 including out of staters who can't make it back for games.

Recruiting: We need to develop players because we can't consistently pull in the top talent

Location: Look around this forum for threads talking about what a crap town Ames is (though I personally disagree)

Facilities: Started in a hole, and losing ground relative to others in our conference

It is imperative that we step up and continue supporting our athletic dept financially - waiting for the FB and BB programs to win under the current circumstances and draw casual fans is essentially hoping we win the lottery.

You can spend a lot of time and money picking out the perfect floral bouquet for your date ... but you're probably better off checking if you have bad breath and taking the porn out of the glove compartment.

The moral: you gain more by not being stupid, than you do by being smart. Smart gets neutralized by other smart people. Stupid does not.

Yard barker?? Never heard of him. BTW, just a comment . . . with this self fulfilling prophecy spouted by apparently a majority of our fans . . why not go to the MAC or Missouri Valley where we BELONG?? You guys really do need to quit guzzling all of the ANTI ISU propaganda . . and AGREEING. What the Heck???

Why are there no Big East schools on the list? I would definitely consider Rutgers, Cincinatti and Syracuse for inclusion in the list.

Syracuse has some football history. Cincinatti and Rutgers have had some pretty decent success in the last few years.

That’s a fairly accurate list. I’d have to say after dealing w/ these swine farmers in the state of Iowa I’d have to say ISU should be somewhere closer to #1. At least Vandy and Duke are educated people.

Can we be sure it is Matt P . . or someone posting/using his moniker . . . I can't believe somebody would be that stupid? IF it is Matt . . KXNO should immediately terminate his contract.
