The Vikings can thank Childress for this mess..

Childress wanted Tavarus Jackson, even though he was a proven loser. He wanted Webb, even though he has no chance to be an NFL quarterback. And he wanted Sage gone because did not approve the trade prior to it happening. His own ego created this mess.

Should have held onto Sage. Not saying the Vikes would have made the playoffs, as they still had Brett to deal with, but he'd certainly have been a better option than Tavaris.

Sage isn't the answer either. Anyone that thinks Sage is a quality quarterback needs to take off the cardinal and gold sunglasses. He's average at best.

    They would still suck.

I think the Vikes could use an average QB right now.

Stop defending Sage. He wouldn't be winning these games either. Joe Webb has impressed me at points and I hope they can make him the future. He is very explosive.

I think Webb can be a qb. this is a horrible situation to be stuck in. I'd take Webb over Saint Timothy Tebow.

You're hoping a guy who was drafted in the 6th round to play WR is the future? As a Packers fan I hope so too, the guy can't throw a spiral tonight.

Viking problems run deeper than having to beg Favre to come back for an extra year. The OL can't block, the receivers haven't spent considerable time injured can't catch, as a result, because they can't fool anybody offensively, they can't run the ball, and they can't stop anybody on defense. Chilly caused a lot of problems, but don't pretend the QB situation is the only thing keeping the Vikings out of the playoffs this year.

Correct. Sage is a decent backup but is absolutely not a good option as a starter. Far too inconsistent - fact.

I think Webb has shown some nice abilities.

Correct. QB simply has not been the issue. Also, IMO, letting Chester out of Minnesota was a mistake.

Well it's his first game action all year besides 1 kickoff return. His o-line isn't giving him much time and he isn't used to a cold ball. So I say start him or give him considerable PT the rest of the year and weigh the options after the draft.

Average play would be light years ahead of what this team has gotten this year.

Sage Rosenfels is not a great NFL QB, but he could have managed the game and distributed to the glut of playmakers around him in Minnesota's system just fine. The Vikings didn't need a great QB, they just needed one that wasn't going to shoot the team in the foot at each and every turn.

But yeah, with this line play, and the defensive regression, it didn't matter.

Rice just started playing again. Harvin has been in and out of the lineup this season. And it's hard to distribute the ball when you don't have time to get the ball out of your hand.
