    MBB Scholarships

According to my math, there are 13 scholarship players on the team this year (the limit). After this year, ISU loses 3 players and have commitments from 4 players, which would leave them with 14 players on scholarship. Do I have that correct? If so, who loses their scholie to get it down to 13?

    Re: MBB Scholarships

Somebody leaving is only one way to make the numbers work. Its also possible one of the incoming recruits goes to prep school for a year.

But if I had to take a guess, I would say Phillips is the most likely to leave, in search of greater playing time.

This has been discussed ad nauseum. The answer is...nobody knows who is leaving.

my guess: McKnight and Phillips leave and Bubu gets a scholly.

    Re: MBB Scholarships

Speculating who will not be here next year in a public forum is probably not wise.
Hopefully whoever it is, it is mutually beneficial.

I doubt Bubu earns a schollie until he's a Junior unless one of the three PGs leave right away. Otherwise we'd only have two to give in 12.

    Re: MBB Scholarships

I would not worry too much about this. These things always have a way of working themselves out and guessing usually doesn't come up with the right answer or help at all. Long and short of it: we will have enough basketball players to field a team next year!

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

I hope McKnight doesn't leave. I honestly like his potential.

Given the trend of NCAA MBB these days, I'll go ahead and file this away under "Least of my worries".

Bubu still has lots of work to do and to improve before he gets a scholly. When he shoots better than 40 per cent he might get a touch.

It is so typical that someone leaves from all schools. Why be a worry wart or a speculator that hurts these players? Give the players a chance to play out the year and then you can surmise.
