    Husker Bball....

Just a great read if ya need a laugh, it should be an embarrasment to all the "Die hard" Husker fans but most won't care because their Creighton BBall fans. I don' know how you can pick and choose which sports you support. The "football" school excuse doesn't hold any water, there are plenty of schools who are competitive or atleast have fan support in more than one sport. It's says much more about the fans of the school than the school.

No freaking wonder they can't attract fans....even in an article talking about the gloomy attendance, all the information on that web page surrounding the article is about there football team. There so fixated on football they don't even realize there own marketing mistakes. Hilarious!

What's really funny is they said that Baylor has poor attendance because they are a football school.

    Re: Husker Bball....

Nebraska fans are the worst in sports, which makes it hilarious that they have this slogan of being the best fans.

Ditching your basketball team every winter for a MVC team means you're much closer to being the worst fans, not the best. Neb fans want nothing to do with a team that's not a winner, they'd rather go to a blowout women's water polo victory than a good basketball game if their team isn't great. I lived in Nebraska for most of the 90s, 99 out of 100 Husker fans wanted Osborne fired just before he rattled off the most dominant streak of modern college football. They are exactly that bad. They were foaming at the mouth to fire the guy who is now a legend.

Big Ten teams will get a boost to their basketball record and take a hit on their RPI every season starting next year.

    Re: Husker Bball....

    I found this interesting:
Nebraska isn’t alone in struggling to entice fans to watch basketball in November and December.
Last week, Boehm attended a national conference of 83 schools affiliated with IMG and ISP marketing and sports. During meeting breaks, he asked colleagues at 10 schools about men’s basketball attendance.
“The vast majority, with the exception being Wake Forest, said they are really down this year,’’ Boehm said. “Nonconference games are hard to sell.
“It’s tougher and tougher for folks to come out regularly at this time of year.’’
Hopefully this will decrease the Chicken Little posts about attendance at JHH Coliseum this year. It's not great, but with the situation out there and coming off of losing seasons, you have to expect to take a hit.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

Agree with Velo. Our attendance is outstanding compared to the norm and the total lack of success the last 5 seasons.

I think it just gets better around here attendance-wise as we season goes on.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Living in Omaha, it's my experience that all husker fans are either Duke, North Carolina, or Creighton fans. So annoying.

The best part is that they are averaging over 5800 fansa game in a 14k plus arena. So what do you do. Build a new, Bigger arena, that will look like even less fans when built. That makes sense Nebraska. Especially since building it "downtown" and usually downtown is not near campus. not quite sure of the layout of that town. However if you build something away from campus it is less likely for students to go to the game.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

The proposed Haymarket arena would be closer to the main campus than the devany center, and the Haymarket area is adjacent to memorial stadium, and the baseball stadium Haymarkert park. UNL is in downtown lincoln.
