    Mason City Soph

I saw BF at the Fort Dodge - Mason City game last night. I heard from another coach that he was there to watch the Buckley girl, who is a soph with the Mohawks. The girl seemed very smooth and basketball smart, especially for a soph. I believe she is leading the team in scoring also.

Yes. I was in High School with her for 1 year, cause i graduated, and she is a very good player. She needs a lot of development, but she could be very good.

    Re: Mason City Soph

I saw her play when she was an eight grader for a summer team. I thought then that she was going to be a good one. If she has improved that much that BF is watching her then lets hope she continues and we can bring her into the Sisterhood.

This must be the place with the good concession stand?

    Re: Mason City Soph

It's very coincidental that this thread was posted now, as I just found out ISU has offered her a scholarship. She sounds like a top-notch player.

    Re: Mason City Soph

I've also heard that ISU is coming to look at Spirit Lake Sophomore K.J Veldman, the second leading scorer right now in the state.

Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd

I hope BF comes to Muscatine to take a look at Muskie Soph Leti Lerma. I would love to see him at a game.

And if the game is against Davenport Assumption, he can catch up on family too, as they have a Fennelly on their team.

She has a great shot and a lot of speed but if she is 5'6 than she was standing on her tip toes when they measured. I figure she is about the same size as Elly. Still she is a good scorer for a sophomore.

How many scholarships do we have open for 2012?

With Darcie Dick leaving we are using 10 this season. 2011 is 10 - 1 (Bolte) + 4 (Ellis, Williamson, Mays, Moody) = 13. 2012 is 13 - 2 (Mansfield and Cole) + 1 (Blaskowski) = 12. So there are three more scholarships open for 2012 unless we use any for late 2011 players.
