    Re: Rhoads @ Ames High?

The thing about Paul Rhoads is that he doesn't always want something when he goes to talk to someone. He was probably just dropping in to say hi to a coach or something.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

My sources tell me that Bruce Vertanen has resigned and Paul Rhoads is seriously considering the job at Ames High.

College coaches like to make contact with high school coaches on a regular basis (especially within their own state) even if there is no one they are necessarily after.

Ames High has D1 level talent every year, whether they are highly touted or not, its good to have open lines of communication and let your presence be known.

"Every year"? What planet is this on?

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

They may have a D1 level talent every year or so, but they rarely have a Big 12 level talent.

Maybe he was just giving a "Don't do drugs" speech. Kinda relevant right now in Iowa. HAHA

I heard that CPR and staff are looking at Nate Cruise to possibly walk-on. I heard Iowa has ask him to walk-on too. But I think he has offers from UNI and such.

harrison barnes can't even make the starting team on old horseface roy williams" north carolina team-could he make a starting end on our football team... we need a todd blythe type of receiver or someone like jim doran of the detoit lions fame.jim died back in the mid to late 80's.when he played for iowa state he was a good receiver.
there was a fellow at kansas that was a tall lad that might have been a good receiver-how about wilt the stilt-would he have made a good tight end???????
wilt probably has some kids scattered around with his voracious sleeping habits!!!!!!!!!!!!!maybe they might be available for recruiting........

Cruise is a nice player. Would be a nice get as a walk-on.
