There are still 6 bottles of Templeton left

In Monticello Ia. Its at great pastimes if you know anyone in the area to get it for you. They had it reserved for someone but they didn't pick it up. Don't bother calling and reserving it they won't do that anymore. Ready, Set, GO

Comparing Templeton Rye to Bud Light should result in immediate banishment.

I love me some TR, but I just don't have the energy to drop everything during law school finals and chase a bottle down.

Re: There are still 6 bottles of Templeton left

UPDATE: Those bottles are gone but there are still some in the Fareway store in Monticello. I really don't get the big deal about this stuff either. It's not bad by any means and I would probably enjoy it more if I could get it more than once every 6 months. Just so some people know it sounds like the state gave out too much this past week so we probably won't be seeing much more of this stuff in the near future.

I almost hate to go there, but I'm starting to think that if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Templeton Rye swill? Either you have never had it, or you just don't understand quality products.

    Easy, Spackler. I was kidding.

I wish more people had your attitude towards TR. Might be able to actually get a bottle.

And while my law school may be third tier, my sensibilities, good sir, are second to none. You know, at least in my own mind.

The mystique of being able to find a bottle is part of its popularity. Im not a fan personally but its more about not liking whiskey than TR. I honestly don't know anyone who is a fan of that kind of liquor that doesn't think TR is top notch.

    This.

So far, none of the naysayers have provided anything of value to explain their distain or dislike for TR. Given that, it is hard not to think it is coming from the Fuzzy Navel crowd. You bring up a great point. If you don't appreciate whiskey in general, you're probably not going to appreciate how good TR actuall is.

Re: There are still 6 bottles of Templeton left

I like TR, but some of the luster was polished off when I learned it was actully made in Indiana and just bottled in Templeton. The taste did not change for me, just the finish. I liked it better before I knew the truth. I felt like I did when I learned that the great chilli that we got at school (no bean chilli) actually had the beans pureed into the chilli by the cooks. Was still really good, just not what I wanted it to be.
