    Snowblowers on garden tractors

So, the other snowblower thread got me thinking about adding a snowblower onto my garden tractor. Will that drastically reduce the life of my tractor? I'm guessing yes but wondering if anyone has any experience with one.

I have a Cub Cadet tractor btw.

It isn't going to work the tractor anymore then mowing your lawn. As long as you let it warm up a little bit before putting it to work you should be fine.

I have a Roper 18hp from either 1983 or 1986 with a snowblower and it still runs so....

My neighbor might just give you his. He tried to put it on this year after not bothering to last year. He fought with it for about four hours in the cold and ended up with:
    • the snowblower still unattached.
    • a half dozen stitches in his hand.

I don't think he ever got it on. It would have been pretty useful when we got a foot and a half of blowing and drifting snow last weekend.

From my knowledge it has no effect on the life of the lawn tractors. Obviously you're putting more hours on the unit in more severe weather which could possibly make a difference but you should still get the same number of hours out of it.
