    Early Signing Day

The early signing period for December grad jucos opens today, and I would expect faxes of Jantz and Tautolo's letters to be in the football offices today. Who else will we get? Will Walton Taumoepeau also sign on the dotted line?

Along with Bojay Filimoeatu or Cameron Henderson, I think he fills our most immediate needs for next season, but I don't know if either of the latter is a December grad.

Remind me AClone but between Taumoepeau and Filimoeatu which one is the one that is having the really good season in JUCO?

Since Wally and CPR are recruiting both, I would assume that both meet their needs. The only thing that I know is that Filimoatu had what, four sacks in the title game? Which tells me about a game, not a season. Oh, and that Steele Jantz had a horrible O-line.

What I do know is that I see three tackles with substantial playing time returning, as well as three ends with the same. On the other hand, the ends have Rony Nelson waiting to join the parade--where the tackles don't have a similar player. Thus, DT makes the top of the list.

Strongly disagree with you there. No way is DT a bigger need than DE. Sure we have bodies at DE but those 3 players returning have a total of 5 sacks in their career and for Neal/Maggitt it isn't for lack of playing time. And they don't really hurry the QB either. DT we have a lot better talent in the program right now

Feel free to disagree, that's what opinions are for.

How about this, then? Walton . is first simply because today is the first day of the Early Signing Period--and he's the only juco that I know of that will be a December grad? So, it's simply a "temporal availability" issue.

    Re: Early Signing Day

Lets all cross our fingers that we sign about 10 WRs today. I would actually be ok with the same Dline, but cant stomach watching another season of WR play like the last 2.

Well, do you expect all of the upperclassman WR's that we already have to just evaporate?

Just a crazy thought...how about if the offensive line improves, so the quarterbacks have more time to throw, the quarterbacks throw the ball better--and the wide receivers improve in the offseason?

Or is that just too radical?

Honestly. I think its pretty radical. It was just sickening seeing all those drops last year and then realizing that with the huge number of receivers we have.... that they were by far the best we had.

Im crossing my fingers that we have redshirted some of the amazing ones.

I'm hoping and praying that Jarvis West ends up being a playmaker

    Re: Early Signing Day

Picking up a Jordie Nelson would help. Even a Todd Blythe clone. Looking for a person who can reach back and catch the ball and then not fumble who can block bigtime. That is all. Over and out.

Agreed. We are just in serious need of some sure handed WRs.

So basically we just need the offense to improve in every aspect on that side of the ball, and we'll be just fine? No problem.
