College athletes, and finishing what they start.

Thought it was interesting and we get mentioned, of course, for the un-named German cat.

Bad trend: Foreign players bolt for overseas contract - college basketball - ESPN

"No one is asking any player, whether they're American or foreign, to play more than one season. But there is something to finishing what you started, whether you're playing soccer as an 8-year old or playing Division I basketball. You should finish a season, and if in March you're out the door for a professional contract, then go for it."

I liked the above quote from the article. Not trying to hash up old ***** either.

College basketball really needs to do what college baseball and football does. If you want to go pro out of high school, you can go but if you go to college you have to stay in school for 3 years. It probably wouldn't help with the foreign players but I think it would make the game better.

I think you are on crack! If someone offered me 1mil or even 500k to sit on the bench or in my instance to ride my bike I would do it in a heart beat. Dont get me wrong I love ISU and I hate Lucca for leaving but I still can't really fault him.

Hey, Hollis Price is on there team. I hated OU and especially Sampson...I thought he was dirty before it came out that he was dirty. But I loved watching Price play.

Re: College athletes, and finishing what they start.

Already recognized as a big talent while playing for the Sport *Academy Urspring, Lucca Staiger made his way through all the German youth selection teams and celebrated his debut in the German National Team at the European Champonships in 2009. His attempt to play American college basketball, however, did not go as planned. He went to Iowa State university in 2007, but the NCAA counted his games in the second German league as professional engagements, and banned him for one year from college play. In 2008 he returned to the team, but the precise-shooting guard was not happy with his role on the team. He decided to return early to Germany, and the national team player came to Berlin in February, 2010. Now he is looking forward to his first real professional season with ALBA BERLIN.

    WOW..........

I think it just has to be understood now that if you recruit Euros you're taking a big risk. They are absolutely not reliable.

College Baseball and Football doesn't do either of those things. It's the NFL and MLB.

I'd prefer the NBA adopt the MLB rule, maybe even change the 3 years to 2. They have a development league. They need to use it.
